I wonder if they have ever thought of reporting THE NEWS....This is a Liberal ONLY newspaper....They only reach 20 % of the population......Conservatives make up 40% and Indepedents 35%....All they have to do is print both sides of a story..HOW HARD IS THAT....Sure Obama wont like it ,,but so what

Using texting between BlackBerrys (when there is BlackBerry IM) and for Twitter on BlackBerrys (when there is TwitterBerry and now Ubertwitter) is a complete waste of both money and powerful tools available to BlackBerry users. With a workforce as mobile as the NYT has roaming adds up quickly to be a major expense to the company and 411 is a waste of money in general.
This is all basic 'duh' advice every enterprise should be giving their employees before they even get a company phone.
NYT is now $2 daily, they have ordained their own demise.

Man, I wish my company told me that about my company cell phone, especially the vacation part. I would turn the thing off the minute I left work.
Well, I can certainly understand the Times' point. I just got back from Mexico and I have the roaming charges to prove it.
Perhaps the old values of hard work, thrift and austerity will necessarily return [with a vengeance] as a matter of survival?

I didn't realize the times was in such trouble. Complaining about a $1.49 charge is never a good sign.

The easiest and best business way to deal with this is allow the employee to his/her choice of phone, carrier and plan and be willing to reimburse the employee for a predefined amount per month for the requirement of having a cell phone. The employee can use the additional services as best fit the employee. When the employee is responsible for the cost the employee tends to be much more conscientious of costs.
