AP Article:

NEW YORK A New York congressman says in a YouTube video that Michael Jackson was a "pervert."

Rep. Peter King said society is "glorifying" a "low-life" while ignoring the efforts of teachers, police officers, firefighters, veterans and volunteers.

Jackson was acquitted of molesting a boy.

In the video, the congressman says the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death is "too politically correct."

He conceded that Jackson "may have been a good singer" and "did some dancing."

King is among the possible Republican contenders for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (JILL'-uh-brand.)

King has said in the past that he represents the interests of "blue-collar conservatives."

Peter King and Sloweddy are examples of people who did'nt have a father to teach them love for one another. And that one day they will die .....they too will be judged by what they say?

Wonder what their children will have to endure from the public when they die?....we know hate will be one.... what will be the secrets that comes out about them that will humiliate their families?

Something to think about..time to make a change will you can still look in the mirror fellows....

I don't know if Rep. King is a Christian. Maybe so, seeing as the world is full of phony ones. To paraphrase Christ: If you only love those who love you, and are only friendly toward those who are friendly toward you, and only forgive those who forgive you, big deal! There's a little good in the worst of us and a little bad in the best of us. Can't we focus on the good? That's why the world is so screwed up; it's too full of people who only focus on the bad. Of course most politicians are perfect. Right.

Q: Who is the King of Poop who dissed the King of Pop on the eve of his funeral?

one more thing. MJ is getting the coverage because his story brings in ad revenue. the network that does not cover it will lose viewers and money. i am an American currently overseas and outside the US, MJ is a global icon. no one else outside the US knows who Peter King is and they don't care. for King to belittle the significance of Michael Jackson, and not to acknowledge his humanitarian contributions and his impact on pop culture of which electronic media plays an indispensable role, speaks to his own ignorance

Looking at Pete King vs. the King of Pop is a look at the worst of us vs. the best of us. Read why Michael Jackson is newsworthy for more than his artistry or his scandals at this Huffington Post blog here http://bit.ly/qnsJz

do you feel good now pete is that what a congressman does shoot off his mouth about beloved black entertainers not named O.J. is that what you do in your spare time when you and your buddies on the hill aren't scaming seniors out of their money or selling our children's future into perpituity. talk about child molestation wow in this glass house your staning in how come your the one with the rocks in his hand. your a punchline and your not innocent of your own accuasations sell out.

Michael for all he was or wasn't, for whatever he was guilty or not, he wasn't a hero, he was a VICTIM!

A victim of his manager father of his eager family of the music industry and all his "managers"!

A victim's death should be respected and quiet unless you can charge the real guilty and force justice on them!

A lot of people out there think of him as a hero or a scam but in reality he was a victim as well.

Him I forgive, his 'creators" not!

Do you have any idea of how many people became filthy rich by using him and his abilities.
Did they care what a child's fragile "soul" could become! No! the vultures were eating him alive as they do now on his dead body!

LET HIM REST IN PIECE for once!

Peter King said what needed to be said. The rumors around Jacko are just that, but this media fed cultism is sickening. A holiday week, the news heavies want to get on with their getaway, and presto! The second string, milk the puff piece, and cater to the Jacko Wackos. It's not like the last two weeks didn't have some momentous news events. But that was all lost on the grief manipulators, and an audience seeking a relevancy to their own twisted lives.
Let the mourners suffer in silence, and the Jackson family can pay for their own funeral. The very idea of a bankrupt state, allowing this dog and pony show, to be played out for the Networks and their cadre of idiots! Absolutely disgusting! Everybody pimps everybody in Hollywood, today was no different, but I don't know how a Democracy of the uninformed can survive. The swizel sticks of ignorance must come, just before the kool-aid. Drink deep you emotionally wrought dunderheads. The schlock is out there waiting for you. Dive-in. The sad thing is; you won't even know the difference.

Peter King is the same man who praised our military and noted their sacrifices for this country. He cited a number of other real heroes. Because he took some potshots at an accused pedophille and drug addict, he is instantly dismissed an vilified. His words were poorly chosen; I think he dislikes the sinner as well as the sin. The attention paid to Jacko - dancer singer humanitarian- is way out of proportion to his status as really, just a cult star. He threw his career away a number of years ago; if he was smart enough to know his family messed him up, he certainly was able to seek help and save himself from himself. He was ultimately responsible for his actions, he apparently chose to go the other way, on a route of indulgence and denial. How is someone like that worthy of admiration? How many other lives has he messed up in passing along his sickness. Until the millions became harder to come by, he bought his way out of guilt or redemption - whichever awaited him. MJ hid out, he dodged and he finally ran his act out, time was up for him. Remember the good if you like, but his is not a story to shed tears over.

Many people praise our military and note their sacrifices for this country. And they recognize many types of heroes. King is not special on those accounts.

Accusations do not equal guilt. As an attorney, King should respect the verdict on MJ and acknowledge that there was plenty of exculpatory evidence. People get railroaded; rich and famous people are targets for blackmail.

I agree that MJ was ultimately responsible for his actions and suffered because of them. However, his music and other artistic enterprises did not glorify drug use. In fact, if memory serves, he was used in commercials for Coca Cola. A corporation of such stature would not take a chance on an association with a celebrity who would tarnish its image.

If Jackson is responsible for his own life, so are other people. A celebrity cannot mess up other lives by "passing along sickness." We make our own choices.

Jackson brought a lot of joy and fun to billions of people through his music--his lyrics often encouraged responsibility. His work for and financial support of charities were laudable. The way he reached his fans and the good he did is worthy of an honor.

His psychological problems, excesses, and prescription drug addiction were unfortunate. And they were his personal tragedy. And many other people, good people, fight the same battles.

"There but for the grace of G-d go I."

King should get off his high horse.

Peter King,
We are the world. Who are you? And where have you been? You may want to do your homework or at least watch the news, do some reading maybe before making such vile slanderous comments. You are obviously unaware of the humanitarian that Michael Jackson was. And did you forget that you are a politician and it appears that the majority of Amercians of all races, lifestyles and political platforms loved Michael Jackson... and the majority of us VOTE!? You seemed to have forgotten that this man was found not guilty of the charges, or that probably doesn't matter to you. I don't know what your definition of a heroe is but you are my definition (in your own words) a "low life."

How Vile ! How hateful can a person be ? Michael Jackson honored volunteers , firefighters and all people who gave of themselves to help and better our society. I am shocked and embarrassed that this loser is an elected official from my home State.

Yes everyone has a right to their opinion

Yes Peter King crossed a line

Yes Micheal Jackson was a great entertainer
The key word is Entertainer
Enough is enough with the media, can we keep the continous media coverage on entertainment channels and just possible lead with some news.
It saddnes me that so many people are so effected by this and the nedia keeps pushing this
He is dead evidently by his own choosing and your dayd to day life is not going to change becasue of this and if it does you need help

There are so many more important things to deal with and waste time other than this
Its disguting and out of control

The key word is HUMANITARIAN.

I'VE never seen so many people in mass denial of the MOUNTAIN of good deeds a person has done for the world, instead choosing to focus on allegations that have always been salacious at best, brought on by people of questionable backgrounds. Someone else said it best, he was HOUNDED and the perfect target of the kind of people who know how to cheat someone so trusting of others out of their money.

But more than that, Michael Jackson visited with veteran's and gave to charities all around the world. What has Peter King done to better the human condition? I would like to know exactly what he has done for the soldiers? His record on civil rights speaks for itself. There are gay men serving our country who have to remain silent as they fight for a country that, when they return to it, doesn't even afford them the same rights as the other soldiers they are fighting for. What has he to say about this?

As a matter of fact, the republicans should get on their hands and knees and thank Michael for taking the attention away from another Republican 'family' guy, Mark Sanford. They want the same consideration of 'feelings' and 'time for healing' that they themselves are not giving the world and the family of an inarguably great and important entertainer, whose music and legacy will live on looooong after these politicians are gone. Art lives on... politics, crowns, and wars are all temporary.

Rep. King may have gone too far with the 'pervert' and 'low-life' parts of his comment. However, it is worth questioning whether or not the Jackson coverage is appropriate. While Jackson did contribute great things to American culture, there are other stories which need coverage such as the continuing situation in Iran, Obama's visit to Russia, and North Korea's missile tests.

I understand that Michael Jackson was a humanitarian and the King of Pop, but there are other stories which will effect our future in ways that Jackson no longer will.

I've never seen so many people in total denial--- it's terrifying. Popular mass delusion.

But then again, DENIAL has always been THE preeminent feature of the Michael Jackson story.
