Obama better gets with the program. A total of 75% of the people who wants Health Care Reform is a big number. Since the alternative to a Dem is not existent, a viable Third Party might be in our future.

You can take your 'private demand' Obama and pound sand with it.

We are really falling apart here, aren't we? I'm just as upset as anybody over the issues that have not been explicitly addressed- torture, guantanamo, another war, single payer--but can't you just imagine who is going to be the next president if we tear this administration apart? I'm not suggesting we "all just get along"...but do we have to make a public spectacle out of every disagreement?

What's the alternative? Let the Messiah lead us to the slaughter while stumble around in the dark and whistle 'Happy Trails'?

This president is a disaster. Never has there been such a gap between campaign promises and actual fulfillment. Maybe the CHANGE was what was going to happen after this guy got the job.

I don't know who the next prez will be, but for me Obama is a lame duck.

You never supported him, so what do you care? And not as bad a disaster as every Repb that steps into the White House.

"Never has there been such a gap between campaign promises and actual fulfillment."

Oh, yes there has. Can't you remember "compassionate conservative" and "humble foreign policy"? Or do you just refuse to admit those were George Walker Bush's campaign promises?

In the Spirit of Alexander Hamilton, Teddy Roosevelt, RFK, Lyndon Johnson, John F Kennedy, Hillary Clinton...let progressivism RING ACROSS THE LAND! We are the people...that the constitution had in mind.

I bet that all of these 'progressive' groups are getting funding from the insurance companies to keep up the attacks.
NO one with half a brain would be against health care for everyone unless someone was paying them.

We’ll get the change we can believe in only if we demand it. Both congressional dems and Obama seem to be wavering on some very basic promises made during the campaign.

I applaud these groups for holding the dems feet to the fire. I fear without them, the dems will “compromise” themselves into another losing party, and oblivion.

It doesn't matter if they pull the ads or not. The American people are awake enough to know what their game is and how they make their blood money and will refuse to allow them to continue. Their days are numbered. Either they go with the flow or they go with the NO and get left behind.

I don't know why people are shocked by this. Obama has always been a moderate. I support him, but come on, he's no liberal. I have no idea how the media gets away with characterizing him as such. Maybe it's just because he seems liberal when compared to the Republicans, who are so disturbingly far to the right that it's scary.

Bill Maher said it best. We have no liberal party in this country, not one of national influence. We have a center-right party, the Democrats, and we have an insane party, the Republicans. Progressives need to put the pressure on Obama and all Democrats in the government to join the civilized world and fight for universal healthcare. There is no excuse for this.

If they don't do it, it might be time to just start voting Green.

Try looking at his voting record, the laws he created and passed, his community service, and carreers as a civil rights lawyer and constitution educator. There is more here than meets the eye.

You betcha. But that doesn't mean that they shouldn't try. Unlike the centrist Dems who won't put anything to a vote if it looks like they will lose. Some of them will get theirs in the next election.

YES WE CAN!

HR 676 EVERYBODY IN, NOBODY OUT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAuwaKl3-nU

Email your House Rep & Senators (D or R): http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml

Use my e-mail if you want...

Dear Honorable ______:

Thank you for your service and for representing my fellow constituents and me. National health care reform is underway and I hope you will please support a single-payer, not-for-profit system for delivering health care to all U.S. residents.

I kindly request that you advocate and vote for universal single-payer legislation that provides all individuals residing in the United States with free health care that includes all medically necessary care, such as primary care and prevention, prescription drugs, emergency care, and mental health services. Importantly, legislation needs to prohibit an institution from participating in the program unless it is a public or nonprofit institution. Legislation also needs to give patients the freedom to choose from participating physicians and institutions.

Though America has the best healthcare in the world, for those who can afford it, we also have the national shame of millions being either uninsured or underinsured. Please bring reform that will make us feel proud that America has the most humane healthcare in the world.

It is my hope that you will please consider my opinion as you continue in your honorable role of representing my fellow constituents and me.

Sincerely,

Reader's Digest version:

Dear corporate shill,
Three out of four U.S. citizens demand public health care. Do not imagine you can be re-elected if you vote against it.
Sincerely,
your Bosses

Hey, its their right , But what bothers me is that there are no ads for Public Health care and how privately run health insurers deny claims every day that cause deaths and refuse treatments, surgeries, physician choice, deny on pre-existing condition, and so on. The capitalist public health care has done a lot of damage to the people , both financially and physically. All in the name of Profit. the only Public health ca re to compare it to is medicare , which is pretty basic and that does not work that bad considering the alternative. And when people start asking if they want health care run like to post office Cant be any worse than the way it is. If anyone has actually seen how much mail gets moved, sorted, and delivered in 24 hours 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, youd wonder how they do it with such efficiency . Ive seen it from the inside, most people only see if from the counter, which I will admit or the laziest of the bunch and couldnt hold a job anywhere else. If you knew what it takes to move mail , you sure wouldnt say it doesnt work. I promise you that. But most dont, so they can only talk about the counter people, and the occasional worker who is caught stashing mail so they dont have to deliver it.
I'll take the post office over Ivy greed run health insurance any day.

Part 2

Uyger also maintains that WE THE PEOPLE deserve the change that we voted for, and that you and the rest of the blue-dog Democrats are not living up to the promises made on the campaign trail. The people of this nation, you know the ones that voted you and your fellow Democrats into office, deserve TRUE leadership in the Senate. And if you are not willing to use the power, many of us feel that you need to get out of the way of progress. In short, grow a pair and utilize the power the great people of this nation have given you.

Best Regards,
