A resurgent movement to place "personhood" measures on state ballots across the nation to ban abortion and comprehensive reproductive care could have far more sweeping implications than the trial balloon Colorado voters soundly defeated last year.

Far from being dissuaded by the 3-to-1 loss from their 2008 campaign to confer zygotes with legal rights, abortion opponents are regrouping with a broader initiative that purports to address life span issues, from conception to death.

What rights do the men have with their child? Shouldn't the man have equal rights as a woman when we are talking about their child? What if the father doesn't want the child but the mother does? What about when the man does want the child but the woman doesn't? A man has zero input when it comes to the life of his own child.

I understand that a man shouldn't have to force a woman into doing something to her body that she doesn't want to do but the man shouldn't have to pay for HER decision!

That isn't fair and if this was happening to a woman then they would stand up and change it. Ohh wait that is exactly what they did. Men should be able to make decisions about their own child just like a woman does. I think abortions should be illegal until men get their rights!!!!

If a woman chooses to have a child when the man signs paperwork saying he doesn't want the child then legally that should be like an abortion where the man is concerned. The man would have no legal rights or obligations to the child because it would be like the child was aborted.

You know what, there might just be something to this anti abortion side. Think of it. As men, God intended us to lay our seed when the urge overcomes us , to do our part to create life. If life is not considered at the egg level, then it is at the sperm level to. So it should be legal then for men to do the bidding of God and create life every time God sends him the sign that his vessel of the lord is ready to procreate life.
So yes men, lets join the anti Abortion movement, because being as we are part of Gods mechanism that creates life, and by being turned down to do so is the same as murdering an unborn child, then its time to do our part. it's "life" in the sense that every other cell in your body is "life". You don't raise a fuss if you kill one of your skin cells or a few liver cells die while your at a party, do you? Although what you are saying makes sense, I'm really only concerned with the baby's right-to-life. Both participants in the pregnancy should have shared responsibilities, and in my opinion, if they are willing to have sex, they should be willing to care for a baby if it happens.

What about being pro-responsibility? You have the right to have sex with anyone. If you chose to have sex without contraception, you are also choosing to raise a child with the mother of your child.
