I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Steele Sanford

I think we can all agree that while the future holds many things for Mark Sanford, a career as a writer is not one of them. His emails to his Argentinian mistress were full of syrup and cliche, to a point that Jimmy Kimmel couldn't help but reenact them, Jimmy Fallon made karaoke out of them, and Conan couldn't tell the difference between his writing and that of Danielle Steel's.

Here's one of many terrible examples:

"I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night's light -- but hey, that would be going into sexual details..."

O'Brien made his sidekick, Andy Richter, guess as to who authored a series of passages like this last night. He had a little help from a pre-recorded Fabio, but all in all did pretty well considering.

70% of SC want Sanford to resign?
That's lower than I thought it would be.

The remaining 30% don't care what you do as long as you still have an (R) by your name.

The guy has zero credibility. I think he's afraid to come out in public now.

Yes. Sanford needs to hire a good editor (and maybe a ghost writer).

His 'fault lines" may be deep and wide as a politician and husband, but as writer/poet he would be great. I must admit I have one of his lines on sticker by my desktop. He would give Steel quite a competition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN5PbSvFFAE

How about hiring a ghost governor, you know, someone who will actually do his job while he's off frolicking with his mistress.

How dare you so insult romance novels! Sanford writes melodrama. And Fabio? That guy was 20 years ago. That's like a discuss of television with a caption of Milton Berle.

Furthermore, Fabio used a ghostwriter.

Amen. I groan every time uneducated people insult the genre about which they know NOTHING. I know I shouldn't let it get under my skin, but geez, isn't Fabio like... 60 now? And for a take on TODAY'S romance novels, check out a real article posted today:
