The republican party would fare better by supporting a cockroach in 2012. At least the cockroach won't quit.

I think there is not a shred of truth in this. Since her resignation her ratings have taken an even greater nose dive, while her popularity had been declining in the last several months

Please correct me if I am wrong. Didn't 9 out of 10 Republicans vote for John McCain in 2008?

The push for Palin underlines the current political, economic malaise that has sent this country into serious decline starting with Reagan. Common sense and rational thinking about our best interests and economic welfare have taken a back seat to physical attributes, personality at the expense of intellect and honesty in appraising the top leader for our country. Whatever credentials and abilities Palin possesses or other ascribe to her are not the essential elements necessary for capable leadership and competent leadership. Her work has been before the American people for months and has lacked the temperment, good sense, and thinking required for high office. We suffered through Bush, Let's not do it again.

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do? '

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'

Her parents beamed.

'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that.. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and rake my yard, and I'll pay you $50.

Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house. '

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ' Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

So have you thought of offering that homeless guy at the grocery store a job? Or don't you really want "those people" around your house?

Assumption is the MOTHER of all s.c.r.e.w.u.p.s - in some movie that I saw once. LOL!
Seriously though. There are NUMEROUS inititives that conservatives and progressives share such as LIBERTY, not going to war unecessarily, limiting US involvment in other countries problems, ending the abuses of the Federal govt such as the Patriot Act. Stop letting the corporate media divide and conquer. Its time to unite and stand up for the principles of the Constitution. Otherwise I fear that all could be lost.

Fairtaxnow speak with forked tongue. The reason the republicans have the $50 dollars is because of the tax cuts for the rich and the policies of the Bush administration to ensure that the wealthy survived his infamous years in the White House while the rest of us ponder the misery of current economic distress.

Palin speaks to people who are uninformed, illiterate and undereducated .. they understand her, because she is one of them.

The problems and challenges of running a country, however, require more than whining sound bites and throw away lines that any 7th grader can understand. Palin just doesn't have the intellectual capacity to deal with those issues, and neither does anyone who thinks she could.

Much like 'the blind leading the blind' ... Palin the simpleton connects with the simpletons. Let's hope they are a minority!

You posted this drivel already. I schooled you 2 pages ago.

Any criticism of Palin's audience should be directed at the left - they have controlled public education since 1965 when they changed the NEA from a professional organization into a trade union. That marked the beginning of the decline of SAT scores and other forms of performance measurement.

Public Education has been churning out an underclass for decades. And it is the height of hypocrisy for Pr0gressives to criticize the intelligence of these people.

Apparently you haven't visited a high school recently. Mr grandaughter graduated with high honors in an accelerated academic program whereby she took college math and history courses in her senior year. Certainly there were other graduates who had less academic ability but did complete their studies successfully and others who had a great many problems with learning thru no fault of their own or public education. These have been generational problems in education and reflect the fact that children have varying intellectual abilities as all members of society do and the public schools work diligently with them all.

Are you saying that Palin's stupidity/lack of intelligence is the result of the poor education she received in public schools?

I just love how Conservatives tout their ideology like it's some sort of merit badge. I don't hear Dems going around talking about liberalism this, liberalism that. It will be nice to see Conservatism d.i.e. a long-overdue death. Because those who seem to believe in its principles, don't see that there is a time an a place for everything.

Small government! Tax cuts! ....blah blah blah ...as if these are the solutions that would

Conservatism has lost its shine.

Yeah okay. Look, you don't get to have it both ways. It's not our fault Bush was a faux conservative. You supported him all the while he was growing government. Now Conservatism is a joke, and you and your like-minded friends deserve it.

Tom Daschle, Tim Giethner, Charlie Rangel, Edward Kennedy, Chris Dodd are these the saints that you say are NOT corrupt. Im sure that you can show me where the conservative, moderate, and liberal party headquarters are since you are so stuck on party. I am not a memeber of any party. My political leanings are somewhere in the center of libertarain and conservative.

Finally didnt Obama also get a swetheart deal on his mortage from Resko. Wasnt Resko CONVICTED in federal court. Its foolish of you to assume that either party is a beacon of light.

It's because the conservatives are more informed about politics... which is why they're more excited about things. The left would rather you not pay too close attention... just focus on simple feel-good slogans, and let the leaders worry about the details, it's too much for you to understand. That's their approach.

tax cuts and small government work... history is quite clear on this.

The fact that we're rejecting this history is troublesome to people who understand the consequences.

There are only 7 (SEVEN) States with more registered Republican than Democrats: Utah, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina

Texas is moving toward Democrat due to hispainic disguest with the way Sotomayor is being treated...and S.C. has a move to demand the impeachment of Sanford or the 1/3 of the disgusted registered Republpicans are going to abandon the party for the democrats!

This poll is a little confusing:

It says 70% republicans are likely to vote for Palin in 2012. Does that mean on Election day, or for the republican nominee? Was it, "would you vote for Palin, Steele, Romney, etc?" Or just, "If Palin is the GOP candidate, will you vote for her?" If it's the first, I'd probably be one of the 3 of 10 that wouldn't vote for her. However, if she were the GOP nominee, I'd most likely vote for her.

21% of the electorate identifies themselves as Republican. That's 21 out of 100 people. Two thirds of 21 is 14. So, 14 out of 100 people are excited about Sarah Palin running for president in 2012....14. That means 86 out of 100 people either are not excited or don't care. Tha's the number that should get reported..

you forgot about all the Democrats who want her to run in 2012...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:05 PM on 07/08/2009

You mean the PUMAs? How did that work out in 08? Dems will not vote for her. If they didn't put Hillary over the top there's no way in Hell they are going to vote for Palin. Keep fishin dude or dudette. I can actually read and think for myself. Get excited about those numbers if you want but she already ran...and lost in 08. And who would hire her when she could not tough it out with the Alaska legislature? If you can't deal with them, how can you deal with Medvedev, Putin, Ill and the rest of the world leaders who don't have America's best interest at heart?

Additionally, it would be odd for her to want to run for America's top government post after saying she can do more working outside of the government. Yet another statement that is contradictory.

How many loyal republicans are there?

Besides, the conservatives don't care how bad their candidate is, they want to prove governmnet is a bad concept anyway.

It's not that government is a bad concept... it's just bad when Democrats are in control, and they expand it beyond a sustainable scope.

Democrats are bad for the environment, because their policies are unsustainable.

too bad you're going to have to live with Dems in charge for at least 4 years.

but, clearly, Bush's policies, like Reagan's policies (you obviously remember the trickle down theory) are about as sustainable as a chocolate bar in the sun.

A few days after the Nov 08 election our teenaged grandson, his sibblings, and parents were having dinner with us when he made a statement that was like ice water in my face in the middle of my sleep...and it woke up me and the rest of our life long GOP family. He said: "Papa, a black man from a poor family can be elected President of the United States as a Democrat, James Dobson WILL NOT EVEN ALLOW a Mormon, Jew or Catholic to be on the Presidential ballot for the Rpeublicans. I thought we were a nation with freedom of religion. I guees NOT! Since I want to be in politics and we are Catholics, and Republicans, I have to be a Democrat from now own...and your too Papa"

What an eye opening comment! When a teeenager, from a LIFE LONG GOP family, can see the prejudices and hypcirsy of the GOP...no wonder it is dying on the vine...and it should!
