Budget Cuts Cause Cops To Cut W.'s Extra Security

The Dallas Morning News:

The Dallas Police Department has cut back on some of the additional protection that the department provided around the Preston Hollow home of former President George W. Bush.

In addition to the usual Secret Service protection, Dallas until last week had stationed one on-duty tactical officer per eight-hour shift on the street outside the president's home. The estimated cost of that service was $300,000 for about a year, according to police officials who asked that they not be named.

Poor Bush! help him please. His extra security had been cut, poor thing. i suppose it should not be a proplem for him, because very soon he and his beloved friend is going to plan a security hazard to his life and property which will force the state governor to increarse the security. Just wait and see how the Republicans howls after the plan is put into action.

I am sure senator Lieberman is getting ready with a bill on this issue for a resoulation to be passed in the congress with over whelmning vote. To be sure a friend inneed is a friensd indeed. Isn't it Mr. Bush?

I live in a small town in NJ, and the cops' favorite pasttime is picking off people going 3 miles over the speed limit or accusing people of not picking up after their dogs..impo­rtant stuff, you know...

Sounds like you live off of 287 up north, my State Trooper buddy thinks the locals should stay off the interstate looking for ticket money. The NJSP fields thousands of abuse complaints, which usually turns out to be local.
