Henry Waxman: GOP "Rooting Against" USA

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), who has had an eventful couple of weeks to say the least, believes House
Republican opposition to climate change legislation and the stimulus indicates they're cheering against the good ol' US of A.

"It appears that the Republican Party leadership in the Congress has made a decision that they want to deny President Obama success, which means, in my mind, they are rooting against the country, as well," the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee chairman told WAMU radio host Diane Rehm on Tuesday morning, promoting his new book, "The Waxman Report."

Waxman is correct. Those on the right are absolutely not presenting "differing opinions" or "opinions", they are actively working to fatally damage the USA to prevent anyone to the left of Atilla the Hun from getting any credit. They clearly want to destroy the USA in order to "save" it from Ideological Unsoundness. Remember, the ones who were saying "Better dead than Red" were right-wingers.

You haven't been paying the slightest attention, have you? The conservatives consistently present their ideas, which are summarily dismissed by the Democrats, who control Congress. That's their right, having the power.
But to say that conservatives who don't agree with the Global Warming nonsense wish to destroy the U.S. is not only silly, but a complete contradiction. Its the Democrats, and by extension Liberals, who wish to destroy the U.S., by reducing its ability to give people the opportunity to create their own lives and wealth, and move our wealth producing companies to other countries.

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do? '

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'

Her parents beamed.

'Wow...wha­t a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that.. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and rake my yard, and I'll pay you $50.

Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house. '

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ' Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Michael Steel, spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), quickly demanded an apology from Waxman — who clashed with Boehner during the climate change vote last month.


“That is an outrageous statement, and obviously Chairman Waxman owes the American people an apology,” Steel wrote in an e-mail to POLITICO.

I'm still waiting on the apology from Boehner for his part in what happened to our country and our economy! Where's my apology for my wages decreasing while 5% had a $500,000 a year raise? Where's my apology for the mess they've made of our country?

Please Rep. Waxman, do not apologize to the people who got us into this mess in the first place with their deregulation of toxic pollution fuming companies who contributed to get them getting elected and controlling Congress for the last 14 years! The GOP of party is the party of corporate America none of their actions have helped the typical American person. Republicans OBVIOUSLY want Obama to fail, it's their only hope! So, they vote against every possible item that could help America...­.then if things go their way, nothing improves and they think they win. BUT, there's a problem with their plan, Americans have opened their eyes and they understand what they are doing. IF they worked toward improving our situation, the people wouldn't be so partisan and then the repubs would have a chance, (slim though it might be) of coming back. Until then, they have made themselves irrelevant.

To be more accurate..­. We already know these policies will lead to stagnation. History is quite clear on this. So if Henry's policies are known to be regressive, why would we support them?
