After missing two overseas trips due to surgery to repair a broken elbow, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans to deliver a major foreign-policy speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington next week before departing for India and the ASEAN conference in Thailand on Friday, July 17, aides say.

No no no, HP. Hillary is NOT trying to "raise her profile" with the speech, she wants to catch up with the delay in diplomatic relations caused by her injury. Hillary has never made her role as SOS a personal career, she chose it to do what she does best: take on an important task for the American people and heal this country from the international snubbing we've received since she left the White House.

Hillary's role as a model politician, a smart woman with a legitimate concern for the situation this country faces would be best in the Oval Office of the White House, but since that's not the case, I think any top position that she assimilates will have a positive and much needed impact on US and world affairs.

Articles have been out that are now embarassing O. "Where's Hillary?" is one title from last week. The fact is that he gave more attention to Biden being sent or to envoys and she kept in the background. I presume they both agreed that was best. I also presume it went too far.

I respect and admire Hillary Clinton. She has an incredible work ethic and has shown fortitude and a hefty dose of inner strength under extremely difficult personal and public challenges. Maybe she felt a bit disjointed at the outset of her new post but I am glad she has a strong leadership position. Hillary Clinton is a strong role model for women in my opinion.
