As long as she remembers that the well-being of the nation overrides all else...

And that the nation IS the American People...

And that the voice of Wall Street is not the voice of the American People.

God I hope she talks about healthcare even though it's not her realm. "Hey guys, I just traveled around the world and everyone has better healthcare for less money and is laughing at you."

Let Palin pick the topic, make Hillary down a shot, and it still wouldn't be fair to her.

When Hillary gets to India will she visit all of the contractors that she and Bill made millions on by handing American jobs over to them?

Sorry I'm not going anywhere, and neither are thousands workers that Hillary and Bill sold down he river to make their millions on NAFTA and outsourcing deals. The millions of lives that were damaged by the Clintons far outweigh the exaggerated 18 million that supposedly voted for Hillary. Clinton apologists will never be allowed to gloss over the damage they did to America.

Report the facts: she is giving a speech. She can't raise her profile: she is the senior-ranking cabinet official and the fourth person in the line of succession for POTUS.

She may be the senior-ranking cabinet official and the fourth person in the line of succession for POTUS, but that alone is no guarantee of influence over policy. Just ask former Secretaries of State Colin Powell or William Rogers (the latter served in the Nixon adminstration, hidden by Kissinger's shadow.)

Agreed. But IMHO the headline misrepresents her MO and engenders controversy.

Hillary who? She's been "special envoyed" out of a job. Barack is making a tactical error here. He forgets the adage that you keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.

You are wrong. The President is emphasizing diplomacy more so than Bush did and it feels unfamiliar to you. All still report to the Secretary of State.

By that you mean to imply Hillary is an enemy? Luckily politicians generally understand that the game ends when the election or primary does...

Hillary is nothing if not a consummate politician...she knows her own political future is tied to Obama's...I expect her to be somewhere between a competent and great Sec of State...events will likely decide.

1. Clinton is not the enemy. Obama has made that clear, the Democratic Party has made that clear and the country has made that clear, given her approval ratings.

2. The special envoy's were Clinton's idea. Even Obama says so. It was Clinton's plan for State during the campaign.

Mitchell and Holbrooke are certainly Clinton people...hard to believe Hillary didn't select them...or at least suggest them and have her suggestion adopted...

...seems some wantto see a rift where it doesn't exist, or hasn't exhibited itself publicly.

I am glad we are going to hear from a woman who has earned her position by being competent and intelligent and working hard for many years.

Women have been set back 100 years by you know who. And the rest of us have to work twice as hard to prove not all women behave like that in the work place.

I for one am not going to accept the logic that because of one air-headed female (and I presume you mean Palin) that all women are set back 100 years. I think that sensible, fair-minded men and women see Palin as an idiot due to her individual characteristics, not her gender. Those who are prejudiced against women, on the other hand, may have had their backward views reinforced by Palin but were likely to cling to their outmoded chauvinisms with or without Palin.
But yes, it is good to hear from a competent, intelligent woman. I hope Clinton's speech gets 1/10th the attention that Palin is getting...at least in HP...please?

Sounds like she may be gearing up to challenge obama for the nomination in 2012. Based on his performance so far, she has a good chance. There are lots of people out there who thought she should have been the nominee in 2008.

And there are also a lot of people who thought she shouldn't be nominated in 09. Hint: President Barack Obama. I see the stage play being set...I can't wait, politics.

LOL!!! More like it will be Hill vs. BO for the 2012 nomination... You can bet Hillary hopes Barry's poll numbers continue to drop like they have been so it gives her the cover to run against him in 2012!!! BTW, I thought Plugs gave this administration "gravitas"??? LMAO!!!

Please state all the reasons why Hillary would have been the better choice. Address all past decisions. Address the differences between her and Obama's policies and her and Obama's temperament. Address the fact that she ran a poor, financially-insolvent campaign and lost the nomination even though she was the "inevitable" nominee. Explain why this means she would have been a better candidate. Address her (self-styled) co-Presidency with Bill and explain how their support for DADT, NAFTA, welfare "reform", deregulation, sanctions in Iraq that killed tens of thousands, etc., proves she would have made a better choice. Be specific or we might think you do not know what you are talking about.
