Lindsay Lohan Turned Down 'The Hangover'

She could have been in the hottest movie of the summer.
Instead, Lindsay Lohan, 23, declined the role of stripper Jade in The Hangover after declaring the screenplay "had no potential," Us Weekly reports

The stripper role was crap.
It could have been anyone, and frankly it should have been some one much less attractive and much much older than Graham.
THAT would have been funny.
You see, she wants her "films" to show her acting ability, and "hangover" wouldn't have required any acting.
These kind of poor decisions are why her career is on life support. 'The Hangover' would have been the biggest grossing movie she'd ever been in.
I am so glad she didn't do The Hangover. I love that movie and I would have never gone to see it with LInday in it. Too teeny-bobber trash to me.
First, she passed on the script, wasn't offered the part.
And second, THANKS ! She would have made the movie about her, and it would not have been any good.
Bruce Campbell has this example of how nobody can guarantee whether or not a movie will be good: imagine that you're a studio exec and the guy who produced all of Spielberg's films to date comes to you with a novel from an instant-bestselling author he wants to make into a movie. He's lined up the Oscar- and Pulitzer-winning writer of MOONSTRUCK and DOUBT respectively to do the script, and the guy who actually ran the cameras on E.T. to direct. If you agree to greenlight this movie, you should congratulate yourself for making CONGO.
I think that she would have been horrible in that role.
In the hangover, that push-over dudes caricature of a bitchy sexless girlfriend was juxtaposed with a sweet, sexually available mom caricature. I don't particularly care for her, but Heather Graham did a good job, a much better job than LL could have.
To be honest I probably wouldn't have liked the movie as much.
Lindsay never takes a roll where the is food and catering. Never.
So she didn't do the "Hangover"!! It just might turn out to be a really smart decision.
Pauly Shore NEVER had talent. This is more like a Mickey Rourke back in the 80s situation. We can see the potential dissipating right before our eyes. But I guess there's hope. . . maybe she'll emerge in 20-25 years to play a washed up stripper or call girl or something. Should earn her an Oscar nod too since it would be so against type. . . NOT.
Lohan had talent? Huh, I must have missed that one! What movie was she in that showcased that talent? Herbie?
She probably didn't want to play another stripper so soon after "I Know Who Killed Me"
Why! It was perfect for her. She is good at pole dancing :)

I feel sorry for her coming from the family that she came from. A convict father and a desperate stage mother...but at some point she became an adult and she has to take responsibility for her life and career. I hope she gets it together.
Who knows? She may be right! She is box office poison. Maybe her being in the cast would have meant a different result. . . a self-fulfilling prophecy.
As an avid movie buff, I always have to scratch my head when I read stories about actors kicking themselves for passing on roles in ultimately iconic movies. IMHO, that's absolutely misguided because even for the most well-written roles, CASTING IS KEY.
Imagine Gwyneth Paltrow and Matthew McConaughey (the studio's pick) in Titanic instead of the boundlessly talented Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio? The movie would have tanked as fast as the ship that inspired it.
Or Gary Oldman (a fine actor to be sure) and Kevin Costner (not so much) as Morpheus and Neo, respectively, instead of the pitch-perfect Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves?
Sometimes a movie becomes a hit because of casting. But EVERYTIME a movie becomes a PHENOMENON, it's in part because the "STARS" aligned.
Got two more for you.
Tom Selleck instead of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones
Ronald Reagan instead of Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade.
John Travolta as Forrest Gump.
Wow. Things really turned out as they should have.
Halle Berry and Johnny Depp in Speed.
