Michael Jackson Memorial

Ad Week:

NEW YORK Some 20,000 people on Tuesday morning filed into Los Angeles' Staples Center to bear witness to Michael Jackson's memorial service, and while it's believed that tens of millions more watched on broadcast and cable TV and via streaming online video, a final reckoning won't be available until Wednesday.

In the meantime, representatives from the TV outlets that covered the event said the loss of two hours of daytime inventory was a decidedly minor concern.

MSNBC more than made up for no commercials during the live event. When they replayed it last night at 11 p.m. they were a ton of commercials. The 2-hour memorial lasted 3 hours thanks to all the ads. Why I didn't think to set my DVR before I left for work yesterday is beyond me. That said, even with all the ads, it was a beautiful memorial. I hope they release it on a DVD with the proceeds going to his favorite charity..

But, when the president has something to say on prime time, that's a problem?

I'm pretty sure that the only complaining about the President was coming from the righties. Though, to be fair, this is a one-shot deal (during the day) and the President was on primetime in almost consecutive months.

Try getting a little perspective.... Sheesh
