Miley Cyrus Wears Thigh High Boots, Is Good For America

Miley Cyrus is the August cover of Elle magazine, and inside the teen queen poses in black thigh-high boots and talks about her new clothing line with Max Azria for Wal Mart.

"The jeans are my favorite part of the entire line," Miley told Elle. "Because, like, literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don't have it available."

She also talks about her friendships (and one-time romance) with Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato.

"It's hard for all of us. There are so many people that could be using you. So me and Nick and Demi, we don't need anything from each other. We got our own thing going on."

Come on people, Miley's 17. And everyone knows that for entertainers transitioning from being thought of as a child to an adult in the eyes of the fans is difficult. Do we want her to act like she's 14 year old Hannah until she's 24 and then decide that in order to be seen as an adult she's got to go over the edge?

And Disney? Big deal, when Fantasia came out they tried to censor it because the animated fairies looked mighty exposed, and that was almost 80 years ago.

She is 17. Isn't 17 the age of consent in many states. To me this isn't any different than any of the 17-year-old fashion models who are photographed dressed in a lot less than this. Everyone grows up, and we can't expect these TV kids to look and act like 10-year-olds forever. My niece loves Hannah Montana, so I can understand why people want Miley to always look and act like a wholesome child, but she is not a little child. Before we know it she will be 25, married, and have kids of her own to exploit. :-)
