I Like ItI Don’t Like It

New York Congressman Peter King (R) came under fire for his extremely harsh comments about Michael Jackson, calling him a "child molester," a "pervert," and a "pedophile." However, he's doubling down on his statement with his appearance tonight on "The O'Reilly Factor."

King told O'Reilly that he "stands by everything I said" in the video, and that there's nothing racist about it. King also claimed that his comments represented what "millions of Americans really felt."

Why's everyone so upset?

Everyone knows that the Irish, being a surly bunch - raw in manner and wit, are generally bullies ...

... that's until a few English lads show up and make clear who runs the neighborhood.

Peter King's just ... shall we say ... being Irish.

A good smack should do it.

I appreciate the chuckle and the irony of using race in re: King. Gotta say though, about the English... even when the sun never set on the English Empire, when they had subjugated millions, they still couldn't handle the Irish very well. Too surly, apparently.

AhnAmuru,

In the privacy of his own home this guy can say whatever he wants..
But in a public setting New York Congressman Peter King's statement of Michael Jackson is slanderous.

I do hope the Jackson family takes him to a court of law so that he is held accountable.
No excuses for Mr.King, even if he is Irish.
Actually this is an insult to the Irish.

How can King propose to speak for "millions of Americans." A Congressman is not necessarily the mouthpiece for millions, when he is spouting off on his own opinion and literally convicting someone on a public forum without proof. I found another good/funny blog on him at: http://newsy1.wordpress.com that really let's him have it.

Okay, never mind I saw it. It's in the small print at the bottom of the page: they are contributing to whomever the Democratic candidate will be.

Thanks but no thanks. It will be nothing but more of the same.

The truth prevails. I just see the jealousy of people like King. How dare there a be a president of the USA that is a man of color how dare anyone call Michael Jackson the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen. Haters can't accept the truth when it is staring them in the face. I hope everyone wakes up and starts to hold the mainstream media accountable for destroying innocent people. I think the memorial service was a more fair representation of Michael Jackson.

your post makes no sense.

tho, I do 'dare' to call MIchael Jackson a mediocre entertainer - not a trailblazer, not an innovator, not even remotely a 'humanitarian' -

let it be

Well, I definitely don't think he was mediocre, that's for sure. He was a superior entertainer.

You are entitled to your opinion however I disagree,Michael Jackson was all of those things.

Like fine food not everyone has an educated palate.

You can be forgiven for your lack of appreciation.

You will never know what you are missing.

You can clearly see that Michael was telling the truth. He will be vindicated!

Well Mr. King, since your speaking for millions, speak this for me, we all know that a rep. went away with his mistress and no one knew where he was and now he refuses to step out of governorship, it is funny how one can't handle their own party but (suddenly their an expert on an entertainer), entertain this get the big timber out of your own party and leave an entertainer who you did not know personally alone, and tend to your own buisness in which you seem not to be doing much of, it's kind of hard when someone else gets in your buisness isn't it.

I think its outrageous to declare Jackson as the person who broke the color barrier...that honor belongs rightfully to all the great singers and groups of the 50's...little Richard, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Little Anthony and oh yes, the Platters. These are the people who crossed the color line and while we danced away to them...even our parents loved the Platters... So lets give the right people the credit they deserve because if it wasn't for them Jackson would have just been played on black stations.

Michael Jackson broke a very important color-barrier: videos on MTV. Up until Billie Jean came out, there were NO black artists featured at all on MTV. In my opnion, this ushered in another golden-era for African-American music in the mainstream.

Plus not to mention the enormous amount of money he has given away to charity. The Guinness book of world record has him down as the number one person in the world who has given to more charities than anyone ever. As an entertainer he has given away over $500 Million to various charities around the world.

Michael Jackson is included in the category of some of the greats blacks who have contributed to the breaking of color barrier and transcended our African heritage.

Mr. King could have a little respect for michael jackson children they are innocent and have probably heard his remarks., but i guess i'm expecting to much from a self rightous moral repulican. King ought to look at his own party as being this so called god loving party (sanford and ensign come to mind) King has probably done things that are not legal then michael jackson ever done , he and his party have been in bed with more lobbyist and special interest groups then anyone can imagine , thats why nothing gets done in washington, his party represents everyone but those that voted them into office. I find it funny king goes on o'reilly , a man who paid off a women he was sexually harassing. A fine example of two hypocrites.

The Iowa State Fair last week announced that they are going to have a Michael Jackson butter statue in his honor at the fair. (A big deal around here.) But some ignorant people have tried to kill the idea by protesting and the fair has decided to put it up to a vote. We need your help! Please vote to have Michael immortalized (for ten days) in butter. Not so much for the honor of having it done, but to make sure people cannot publicly prosecute someone after they have been acquitted.

To me, people that live vicariously through celebrities frighten me in the same way religious zealots do. Glassy-eyed drones that think their deity can do no wrong. And then we have the cynical parasites trying to make an easy buck. I put Mr. Hutchinson and the media in the latter category. Earl took the time to write a simplistic book defending OJ "The Butchering Ninja" Simpson. No doubt he's working on a book about Jacko as he yaps here on the Huffington post. Stay tuned, blind loyalty usually fades, as it did in the OJ case. After Mr. Hutchinson used OJ for a book deal, he kicked him to the curb. As more evidence comes to light, and it will, the temporary insanity of the true believers will diminish and the paralyzing trance will wear off. Then the pop-king idolaters will conveniently forget the death threats and insults to the people that dared to offend their deity. I (a mere poster) have received them, and I know Cenk Uygur of the Young Turks has too. This is the stuff and patterns of witch burners---euphemized as emotional grieving.

Bill O'rielly:
Elvis Presley didn't breake down color barriers, the most important thing Elvis did was bring Black music to White ears.
Many of Elvis's future recordings were inspired by local African American composers and recording artists including Arthur crudup and Rufus Thomas.
Other musical Icons of Elvis's era encludes Buddy Holly,Johnny Cash ,Bo Diddley,Ritchie Valens, and Jackie Wilson.
O'rielly you know nothing about Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson so you really should shut-up until you read about these two mens. And asking Dana Perino if G.W. would have made a statement like President Obama did was a mistake on your park, she said no, well, with fmr.President dance moves we know he doesn't know
anything about Musicians and what they do.

When I was a child,(a long time ago) before civil rights. I heard or read somewhere that Elvis said"The only thing ni#ge#s can do for me is shine my shoes and buy my records". Needless to say I never did either.

Elvis NEVER said any such thing!! Do you REALLY believe everything that you read?? He gave Cadillacs to black people, just handed them keys I actually heard an older black man on TV telling the story! Also, Michael Jackson went with his then wife Lisa Marie Presley-Jackson to an event honoring his father in law Elvis, and the song Elvis sung was all about the horrors of racism and how all of us brothers and sisters belong together... check out it's on youtube

While it is true that pedofiles choose occupations, locations, and situations that involve children,
it is also true that people, especially teachers, coaches, grandparents, choose those situations BECAUSE they truly enjoy associating with children. A gentleman loitering near a playground,
or building his own super playground, may be choosing a victim, or he may simply be enjoying kids.
Or he may BE A KID AT HEART.

Let the good that men do live on in our memories. King and O'Reilly are ghouls for speaking ill of the deceased

tanustar, I agree, and I want to add Michael was over-the-moon in love with Lisa Marie Presley. They continued their relationship even after they divorced... ( traveling and staying together in the same room on his History tour when they were divorced) he never looked so happy since the 80's at the height of his career as when he was with her. The videos of her and Michael together make me happiest- he found his "soulmate" but the drugs pushed her away and he never got over it!

Mr King and Mr O'rielly i would leave my kids with Michael Jackson anyday than send then off to a Catholic Church. Thanks.
Report on the Crisis in the Catholic Church in the United States has generated a fog of figures, which cannot obscure the extent of this massive failure of institutional religion. It is indeed a crisis. .
Here are a few of the highlights.
US clerics accused of abuse from 1950-2002: 4,392.
About 4% of the 109,694 serving during those 52 years.
Individuals making accusations: 10,667.
Victims' ages: 5.8% under 7; 16% ages 8-10; 50.9% ages 11-14; 27.3% ages 15-17.
Victims' gender: 81% male, 19% female
Duration of abuse: Among victims, 38.4% said all incidents occurred within one year; 21.8% said one to two years; 28%, two to four years; 11.8% longer.
Victims per priest: 55.7% with one victim; 26.9% with two or three; 13.9% with four to nine; 3.5% with 10 or more (these 149 priests caused 27% of allegations).
Abuse locations: 40.9% at priest's residence; 16.3% in church; 42.8% elsewhere.
Known cost to dioceses and religious orders: $572,507,094 (does not include the $85 million Boston settlement and other expenses after research was concluded). (Hartford Courant, 2/27/04)
It should be noted that 30% of all accusations were not investigated as they were deemed unsubstantiated or because the accused priest is dead.

Thanks. These are two proud members of this organization. Don't get me wrong! My family is Catholic and I love them but, they know they don't have a leg to stand on when trying to debate issues of morality and values with me simply because of the fact that they continue to take moral guidance from this organization!

Fortunately, people like King never achieve greatness so they steal whatever limelight they can by critisizing, condeming and talking out of theirs a....es to hurt or defame anyone that is not Christian enough for their all-knowing belief system. Never mind MJ was never convicted, all charged dropped.
