Rachel Weisz: Botox Should Banned For Actors - Like Steroids
foxnews.com:
"It should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen," Weisz says of Botox. "Acting is all about expression; why would you want to iron out a frown?"

She does not neet botox or plastic surgery. She is talented and very hot:

Some people actually look better the less makeup they wear. Another good example of that is Drew Barrymore. I hate it when they pile the gunk on her.
You can read the piece in the magazine in you live in England? Uh, there are magazine shops in the US that actually sell Harper's Bazaar UK...how American to think otherwise. By the way Rachel, I agree...
OK, sure, but why put such an awful picture of Rachel on this magazine cover? She is much prettier than that.
No sadly, she really is not.
Uh huh. And who WOULD qualify as pretty in your view? Let me guess.........Sarah Palin???
I think she's quite beautiful, very unique.
Ms. Weisz seems to have a narrow view. Hi def is here, and it's going to be harder for the make-up people to make actors and actresses look younger. Oh, it would be great if there were rich roles for actors at all ages. Let me know when that happens.
It's becoming a MUST for opera singers, especially in the era a high def broadcasts. Last year Karita Mattila (in her very late 40s) sang a production of Salome on a Met broadcast. Not only did she look very obviously fifty-ish, but the costuming emphasized this by putting her in a white Marilyn Monroe type dress that washed out her Finnish compexion and made her look like a middle-aged woman pathetically trying to look younger. Meanwhile, Renee Fleming (a year older) clearly gets substantial work done and while you KNOW her age, you can better accept her in certain roles like Thais and Tatiana (I could show you both Fleming and Mattila in the same costume).
Ideologically, I favor Mattila's preference for the natural look. And in many roles, it really doesn't matter. But Salome is a 15-year-old temptress. But playing an ingenue, up close in high def, it unfortunately DOES break the illusion.
If we could only replace ourselves with completely plastic dolls - oh, how lovely the world would be! True, we wouldn't be able to show anything...
I love Nicole Kidman, but her face is void of any facial features from her botox use.
All actors do is look like they had surgery, they never look natural anymore, how sad.
Rachel is so correct about the human nature of showing actual emotion..and for an actor..double that importance. Can you imagine Meryl Streep not frowning in Doubt? Rachel was born with an incredible natural beauty..but she too will, some day, face oh those pesky frown lines and fred flinstones (what I call the lines under the cheeks down the side of the mouth)... I mean...sadly, look at Nicole Kidman..now I'm not certain..but she does appear...frozen...and she IS a good actress...but will never have the long career of say, Helen Mirren. This is not a life shaking decision..but is symbolic of "our" compulsion to look 25...forever...
I love this woman. She's right. It's the main reason why Nicole Kidman, among others, have been terrible in their most recent films. Lines give us character.
that makes two of us. Don't like the picture much though, she has a naturally beautiful face, I wish she didn't hide it under so much make up.
