Why does race have to be injected into everything. Every race has divorce and problems, so stop putting race above the relationship factor.

I'm not sure what your race is or if you have any understanding of the black community in general. Going from your comments you most likely don't, but the issue of marriage and relationships in the black community has been a matter of discussion for at least the past 2 decades. If the subject bothers you that much (if you even bothered to read the article), then don't bother reading it.

Well they are certainly more like my husband and I than any other celebrity couple. I also like to watch Goldie and Kurt, Tom and Katie, Brad and Angie, Will and Jada, and of course Tommy and Pam (although they are technically exes)

Good article. Black relationships have taken a beating. I simply believe that you should never compare your relationship to ANYONE's relationship because:

1) You can not know what goes on behind closed doors

and

2) It's counterproductive; we must each be the best mate we can be.

I'm not sure why the writer had to get all racial about this topic. The dude's putting a lot of pressure on all of us. Hey, don't get me wrong - I think Obama's the best thing to happen to this country since I've been around (1952). But I wish he would just achieve world peace, solve the climate and economic crises, get the health-care thing done, be a role-model for young children and leave this date-night deal alone. I'm married 30+ years and the guy's posing a serious threat to my fat old white middle-class way of life. If he ever plays golf with Michelle, JUST ONCE, I'm registering Republican.

Of course you would ask that question about it being about race. Most white folks always do when it's about race that you don't quite understand.

This article was definately on point in our community, something you would never relate to in your lifetime.

Between your comment and Ishmael's I'm lost. What does black/white have to do with it?

Oh good way to make me feel good about myself now.

I'm not even reading this article. I was drawn to the stupid headline, here to say, "It's a stupid headline."

I guess I should have said, "who does?", since apparently it is continuing to happen. I enjoy your posts. You're fanned, of course. Keep up the good work.

The Obamas made a "DECISION" to try to have a good marriage! So they both work hard everyday on it, by devoting time to one another, and to date each other like lovers. Their kids also have play dates with their father. So what I'm telling you is that both parties has to have the goal and make the decision to make it happen. That is the hard part!
