We can only hope Bill doesn't have tickets to Argentina, or a golf buddy with a hot wife, or a pair of fishing waders.

Yup-- but did you know what the research shows about avatars?
Read "Sway:the Irresitible Pull of Irrational Behavior."
Here is an interview of the author: "OB: We're constantly engaged in a hidden dance of sorts where we sway people around us and are swayed by others. One of the most unusual studies we encountered has to do with what we call the chameleon effect. In the study, a group of men and women--who had never met each other--were told to have a short phone conversation. Now, before the conversation, each man was shown a picture of the woman he'd be talking to. Unbeknownst to the men, the pictures were fake...The pictures had nothing to do with how the real women looked like, and the real women had no idea that there were any pictures shown. The kicker is that the women who the men thought were pretty ended up sounding beautiful on the phone. And the women who the men thought were less attractive ended up sounding less beautiful...

Looks like Obama doesn't want any liberal advisors on his team for the health care issue.

This is precisely my problem with critics of the President. It's not that you criticize, it's that you make accusations with absolutely no proof.

Now when I criticize say, Sarah Palin, it's always based on facts. People like you are just annoying, no matter what side of the aisle you come from.

Never mind, jsgaetano, that Obama has absolutely no control over the Congressional progressive caucus. Don't let the facts get in the way of your comment.

lolll...and the link between Goold and Obama is?

Any link will do. Say, if you could show that their jobs merely reside in the same building, even?

Undoubtedly, he didn't get those, who control the purse strings, to pony up enough money to their favorite causes. At least the GOP knows how to do that by starting an unneccesary war.

Well, it says that he used to work for Bernie Sanders. This leaves me with the sneaky suspicion that maybe he didn't want to cave but pressure from everywhere made the rest of the group want to cave. I sure hope not. I'd hate primary progressives against progressives.

The Progressive Caucus has not done well on any issue. They have disappointed many Democratic voters. President Obama is in a tumble from being a leader of change to being a typical incumbent politician. He's has the White House and Congress and still can't get healthcare DOMA and DADT reform through. He's more wrapped up with his international image and placating the people who didn't and won't ever vote for him. He best wake up and soon. He needs to remember who brought him to the dance.

This is becoming a knee-jerk comment to anyone who expresses disappointment with our President. It is an attempt to smack down the poster and marginalize the discussion. No liberal is going to vote for Palin but there are reasons for liberals to reevaluate our hopes and expectations for Obama and his administration. Once you make a decision, are you married to it for life, no matter the circumstances?

There is only one reason why political change is so difficult to achieve at this point: SPECIAL INTERESTS. Those same special interests that Republicans embrace with open hands, bending over backwards to support. They are sabotaging the political process, with the help of many from your pathetic party, the party which is largely responsible for the very mess that we are now trying to fix. We are suffering from the Republican/Bush economy and will continue to do so for some time. And it doesn't help when your pathetic party does everything that it can to obstruct efforts that are designed to help the economy and the American people. Ignorance is no excuse and your party has it in spades. Your party is destined for the trash heap of civilization. That's where you belong. In the trash dump of history.

So, the Republican minority in Congress is the reason that Political change is difficult to achieve? Even with the Democrats controlling both the Executive and Legislative branches? Sorry, not buying it.

BTW - If you think Republicans are the only ones with "special interests", you aren't paying attention at all.

Both parties divise platforms and agendas. If someone at that level refuses to adhere to them, they should be let go.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:44 AM on 07/10/2009

If it were simply a political reason, they would have allowed him or anyone else at that level to resign in a way that would allow him to save face AND would not distract from the message and cause controversy. Coming out and saying that he was fired and that his termination was effective immediately indicates to me that there is a major problem somewhere.

We will find out soon. All politicians have diaherra of the mouth.

They said the reasons were "personal". If it's political, I'm sure Goold will come forward. Politicians are somehow able to ignore a lot of unscrupulous behavior from each other, so I can't imagine what the personal reasons could be.

I notice that those who dare to disagree or those who don't totally genuflect to this new leftist administration mysteriously "disappear."

Ah, but then we have entered the twilight zone............................

The difference of course being that firing this guy is likely legal, unlike Dubya firing attorneys for not conducting witchhunts.
