Emma Watson's Wardrobe Malfunction: "At Least I Was Wearing Underwear" (VIDEO)

Hermione herself, Emma Watson, charmed David Letterman and everyone watching when she sat down to push the new Harry Potter movie Wednesday night.

The Potter movie premiered Tuesday in London in the pouring rain, and her vintage dress at one point needed a little readjusting and she accidentally showed a flash of underwear.

'Tell us what's going on here,' said Letterman as he held up a picture of the incident.

'This was a small wardrobe malfunction, it happens,' Emma laughed, adding, 'At least I'm wearing underwear.'

She added, head in hands, 'I'm still learning, I'm still learning!'

Watson also confirmed to Dave that she will be starting college in the US this fall, although the institution of higher learning went unnamed.

While we have yet to see if she will become a great actress or not, you can't deny she is a good counterbalance to the idiocy of Spears, Hilton, Cyrus, et al. Made lots of money, made movies, and now is going to college. Nice to see someone who thinks education is actually important.

I am so glad to see that it appears likely that Miss Waston will survive the often rocky transition from "Child Star" to "Actor" without the trauma and drama that too often plays a big role in the lives of those who came to celebrity status while young.
She seems to have a head on her shoulders and more than self-centered fluff housed within that (remarkably lovely) head.

And YES! she was wearing undies- reasonably prim, not intended for public view, neutral coloured undies.... most celebrity panty flashes seem a bit staged, this seems to have been an honest flub.... and ladies, who amongst us has never had such a moment?

Since her first utterance of the line " What an idiot" in the first Harry Potter film I have always seen Ms Watson as the daughter I never had. I know this may sound creepy but I mean no harm. She and the rest of the cast of the Potter films have stolen my heart and kept it younger beyond it's years. We have watched them all transform before our very eyes as they have maintained their professional poise. Emma certainly has certainly grown into a beautiful young woman and I look forward to following her career after the conclusion of the series. Wardrobes do indeed malfunction and I am happy to see she was properly dressed ! Looking forward to July 15th to be once again transformed into a member of Gryffindor house.

I agree with you, carpdd. All the "Potter Kids" are adorable and talented. I've enjoyed the movies more because of them. Watching them grow up and grow as actors has been a real treat. And this comes from a lady somewhat beyond middle age.

She is just stunning and reminds me of Christina Applegate in that she seems to have both feet on the ground becuase she knows shes famous and can acknowledge it. I can't stand all the celebrities who go out of there way to tell you how they "don't act famous" or don't "feel famous". Hey, you're famous, dealing with it with humility is better than trying to act like it doesn't apply to you. I think she was great.
