This is bad news for Ira Lee Sorkin, who won't be able to receive any more stolen money for his "services."

And it is sad for Madoff, since on appeal his sentence just might have been reduced to 145 years.

He will wait for the next Republican President to pardon him - Republicans have no problem with corruption.

Years ago there was a news story about a Chinese official, convicted of corruption and sentenced to a long prison term, who appealed saying the sentence was unjust. The appeals court sided with him and sentenced him to death, instead.

Let him appeal, the judge will double the sentence to 300 years with hard labor

The most disgusting and disturbing thing here is that his wife gets to keep 2.5 million that the government has agreed not to seize. What message does that send. I am not a thief but if I was and I knew at a young age that I could get away with a theft of this magnitude until I was an old man and then on top of that my family would still walk away fairly wealthy, well why wouldn't I do it?

What's the point of an appeal. They could cut his sentence in half and it still wont matter. He's still going to be in jail for the rest of his life. What he is trying to do now is negotiate for a better prison.

The sad fact of all this is he is being made a scapegoat ( ok that's not the best word because he is guilty ). He is just one of many super crooks out there. The really big ones are still out there milking the public dry. They'll probably never see a day in jail.

Maddog's sentence should be reduced to 100 years on compassionate grounds
