How many tires could be made from hemp oil?
Canola Oil 133 gallons per acre.
Hemp oil 1,000 gallons per acre.
1 MILLION GALLONS per thousand acres.

They should try hemp oil next. Would give a whole new meaning to 'smoking your tires'.

Why not hemp fiber, too? It's the strongest rope material, and could be distributed more evenly through the tire rubber than the thick steel wires used in most tires, so I wouldn't be surprised if a hemp-belted radial tire could be made stronger than a steel-belted radial tire.

Should read "made WITH" not made from, makes it sound like there is some high percentage of the oil, but its just added giving better traction.

Where are you getting that? The article:

[
Tire manufacturer Yokohama is now selling a model made with 80 percent non-petroleum material, substituting orange oil as *the primary ingredient* to make vulcanized rubber...
“It also helps consumers save money at the gas pump by improving fuel efficiency via a 20-percent reduction in rolling resistance.”
