I Like ItI Don’t Like It

A Statue of Liberty replica stolen from outside a coffee shop has resurfaced in chilling video that echoes the horrifying beheadings of journalist Daniel Pearl and others.

The fiberglass statue disappeared last month from in front of the Vox Pop coffee shop in Brooklyn and reappeared on the Fourth of July in a video posted to YouTube showing its horrible fate.

I know I am going to sound out of place here but it's a fiberglass replica of a statue. It isn't alive, has no emotions, isn't feeling pain. Its fate wasn't "horrible". Sad, yes. Horrible, no. Comparing it to human beheadings is trite and shows a lack of feeling.

While the idiots that made this film and destroyed someone's property might think they are "beheading America" or something equally nonsensical, all they did was destroy a piece of fiberglass. Hopefully it's monetary value was high enough that they will be tried for Grand theft when caught.

Is there a fund you can donate to to help the owner replace the statue?

They're free to make a video and then post it publicly, which is a form of expression, which, of course, is a form of freedom. Clearly, we're dealing with intellectuals.

Its either some half wit art students trying to be clever or some black helicopter nuts trying to make a point.

Regardless of who did it, its rather pathetic.

I've shopped at Vox Pop coffee shop in the past. Most of the books they sell tend to lean left. One of the books I've bought there is entitled "The Big Wedding"--it contains VERY STRONG CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE that leads to this question: Did the federal government ALLOW 9/11 to happen? I can't help but agree with the manager of the shop--there is no question in my mind this theft was POLITICALLY MOTIVATED--that is, it reeks of rightwing Republican involvement. After all, most of the books Vox Pop sells are books the federal government DOES NOT want Americans to read. In fact, this place has gotten slammed in the past by one of the local newspapers--the New York Post, which is owned by rightwing media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

CSPAN non-fiction 2005 book of the year, "Crossing the Rubicon" by Michael Ruppert agrees.

Just FYI, earlier this decade Michael Ruppert used to run an eye-opening website entitled From the Wilderness (http://www.fromthewilderness.com) . After numerous attacks on his Oregon home and his website servers from federal government goons, Ruppert fled the U.S. and lived in Caracas, Venezuela for a short time. I've read recently that he's now back in the U.S. getting medical treatment because he's in poor health.

It succeeds in making you sick to your stomach, but that's the point. What type of people would do this? I don't think I want or need to know. It it obviously a ploy exploit our emotions.

LOL in a police state whose citizenry live on a strict diet of deceit and propaganda and are shot with electricity by agents of the government any time they fail to do what the agents of the government say, do you honestly think people give a crap about a beheaded Statue of Liberty?

I see your point.

Well as we witness the last of the temporary privileges errode under what is commonly referred to as a Bill of "Rights", as long as we still have a statue, I guess it's okay we don't have any actual liberties. It's all about the statue! Don't let anything happen to the gd statue!!
