Don't we pay enough in taxes to turtle-proof one of the busiest runways in the world? I'm not kidding! Turtles aren't the most nimble, agile creatures in the world. They can't even get over a six inch fence! Build a six inch fence with our tax money instead of pocketing it, Congress. First it was geese, now the turtles are the new menace to aviation. Stupid!
I agree!
Go turtles go!
Its good i have helped many turtles across the road in New Hampshire when they lay eggs in the spring time.
I'm glad there are other people out there helping turtles. Every time I see a turtle crossing the road, I can't NOT stop and help it. It weighs on my conscience. A few times, I've had to help alligator snapping turtles (which get huge and can reach around all the way to their tail with massive jaws, capable of taking your hand off, or at least a few fingers.) It's good to know your turtle species if you're going to help them. I always try to put them in the same direction they were facing, but some of them get confused and turn around anyway. They like the warm road.
Just goes to show how the mindless hedonism and hyper-sexuality of America can wreak havoc. Imagine the narcissism of those turtles, causing delays in serious travel plans.
