Ironically, "Neverland" is Madarin for "Lead Paint Village".

there's a huge theme park slightly outside Beijing centre where they built these different capitals of the world.. in miniature size. Paris, London, Mumbai. very beautiful!
so it's great they are doing this for MJ> though this is in shanghai?? even better.

Thank you China, The world knows how to recognize a great humanitarian. Maybe L.A. county should build something for MJ since the snobs in Santa Babara are dragging their feet.

This is all about making more money for the Chinese, but still I find it great that they will use their resources to honor an American on their soil. My mother always Told me that "you never know what you have, until it's gone." Michael was preparing for a concert tour in London, because America turned its backs on him. At least he knew the rest of the world loved him.

What a disgrace the US Congress cant come together to honor a music legend and China steps up and builds him a shrine. At least the chinese are appreciative of American culture, can't say the same about US pols.

Thanks, but I'm happy letting France honor Jerry Lewis, and China, M.J. .

Who knew?

You're joking right? This is nothing but an attempt to cash in on his death.

It is very telling that MJ has more of a fanbase with millions of people in many countries than right here in the USA. It says a lot about the differences in the way he was treated in his own country as opposed to overseas.

I was going to post the same thing.

Familiarity breeds contempt!

The world welcomes Obama, but the GOP is tripping him up on every initiative.

Christ was not held in high esteem in his home town of Gilead

If MJ's estate wants another Graceland, build it somewhere that can hold lots of tourists. CA has plenty of rural land.

I think choosing Neverland as his legacy icon is a HUGE mistake. HUGE. He'd moved on. Let's try to do the same.

You are absolutely right. MJ swore never to return to Neverland, after the horrific trial. He has fans world wide that treated him way better than the justice dept here in Santa Barbara. I'm happy to see that China (& any other country that knows what a legend MJ was & loves him) are building a replica of Neverland.

No wonder the Chinese and Japanese are farther advanced than most Americans. Now if only we could grasp the concept of common sense and logic.

boy! that's sure is an understatement !!

China is the oldest continuing civilization on earth! 5,000 yrs.. old. America wasn't even invented.

Japan is younger.. which didn't come into it's own until Ad period.

This is why MJ spent time away from the US in the last couple of years. The foreign media was nowhere near as vicious and exploitative as the American media was to him, and his international fans were just as loyal as his American ones. This is a nice memory, and I hope they do open it free of charge to kids. The idea of a fund is also a great way to celebrate his legacy.

I was in Asia during the 2005 trail. The news paper there printed all the evidence (including info of the so-called victim and his family). Everyone knew the charges were false and just for money. I love the US media.

Good point. Looking back at the evidence now, it really baffles me as to why people were so willing to pin this on him. The reason: lack of REPORTING. People like Nancy Grace were very forthcoming with all their SPECULATION and SENSATIONALISM but had precious little in the way of FACTS. Sickening. The same thing happened with his skin condition, lupus, and the like. If you watch interviews with just MJ (and stay away from that Bashir one - he's a snake - he did the same thing to Lady Di) MJ comes across as such a nice, normal person. The Geraldo interview in 2005 in particular comes to mind. Geraldo, at the end, even says "I am assuming that Michael will be cleared of these charges" or something to that effect.
