Exxon Mobile Funded latest climate bill(interesting)

Industries and individual companies with a stake in the landmark House climate and energy bill poured money into lobbying early this year

Exxon Mobil Corp. spent the most within that group, paying $9.3 million on lobbying the first quarter of this year.
Last year the company spent $29 million, its highest level ever.

Carbon and CO2 (carbon dioxide) are fundamental for all life on Earth. CO2 is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic gas.

It's about percentage of CO2 in the air, not just CO2, get it? Got it? Good!

Now join us in organizing!

There is no accounting for weather.

Short hail storms in the summer have been common for years and years and years.

"Hail forms as a result of the strong updrafts common in severe weather systems. When a strong convective cell forms, warm air rises and cool air sinks. If there is a sufficient amount of supercooled water, accumulation of ice can begin in the clouds.
Rising air will often reach a point in the atmosphere that is below freezing (hence, ice will form). The ice is suspended in the air by the strong updrafts and will later fall back down. This process will occur over and over adding layer upon layer to the hailstone.
....

Many states have records for the largest hailstones. Nationally, the largest hailstone on record based on diameter and circumference was found in Aurora, Nebraska on June 22, 2003.

The formation of hail means there is usually a severe thunderstorm. A severe thunderstorm is the precursor of tornadoes and should be closely monitored.
Temperature variations in the clouds can be substantial and thermalally driven air currents can lead to the formation of hail."

The blood of Africa will be on your hands, Obama, if you don't take a strong stand on energy independence soon. The energy corporations have blood on their hands already. We have exchanged the blood of thousands of US soldiers and millions of Iraqui citizens for "cheap" oil. In Nigeria, energy companies have assisted in the slaughter of all those who want to safeguard their environment and use the profits from oil to take care of their poor.

Why we need rainforest?
Tim Flannery book “The Weather Makers,” 2006:
“Mature forests don’t take in much CO2 they are in balance, releasing CO2 as old vegetation rots, then absorbing it as new grows. For these reasons the world largest forests-the coniferous forests of Siberia and Canada, and the tropical rainforests are not good carbon sinks, but new vigorously forests are.”
Why we need any forest?
Please try to answer on these questions and you will change mind about Global warming.

Dear AngieMom57 & TheHuffingtonEnquirer,
What kind of pollution mature forest take in?
When we speak about GW please ommit biodiversity.
According Tim Flannery maturre forest in balance and do not produce new Oxygen.
God made coal, oil and many others things, why you fighting them, if you are so religious person?
Answer the question: what role of mature forests in the nature of Global Warming?
It is more important for you.
If you want fight for something, you must to understand your position.

Why should I have to, use google!

Dear TheHuffingtonEnquirer, before to Google something, you must understand if Tim Flannery is right in his statement, that mature forest do not produce a lot of Oxygen, and if so why we must save any mature forest. Why it is so important for Global Warming? Otherwise your good intentions to save planet the same is AngieMom57 will make more harm for nature than good things.
Google provide you with information, which is not the same as knowledge.
If you will Google you could find last opinion on any topic, and they could be wrong.
Please try to make your opinion on every topic, where you participate in debate.
WHY WE NEED MATURE FOREST?-IS GOOD STEP TO BEGINNER.
DO NOT GOOGLE TRY TO ANSWER BY YOUR TODAY KNOWLEDGE.

Dear AngieMom, I understand that everything in the world is "interconnected."
What you do not understand "what is main reason for Global Warming?"
You have good intentions to save, peace, planet etc.
You do not know the best way to do these good intentions.
In my opinion you must educate yourself and correct answer on my question "why we need mature forest will help you and your goals.

Obama has a high approval rating, and campaigned on 'change'. He could use his bully pulpit to expose the entrenched interests in d.c. and the elected officials that do their bidding.
Instead, he says nothing, and signs their worthless legislation. Which is, in effect, protecting them from their constituents, and ensuring that little will change for the status quo.

Two things Obama championed on the campaign trail were clean coal and that "if you like your current health care coverage, then keep it".

Why should he turn against himself?

He campaigned on man-made carbon reductions, and a public health plan. Both of which he has now backed down on.

We have to have an uprising in this country!

Show the world that millions of American's can take to the streets in peaceful protest, for weeks not a day (see Naomi Wolf: The Ayatollah's Tipping Point, which talks about successful protesting)!

Let's organize as POTUS suggested in his campaign.

We must let the demonic polluting, self-serving corporations of this planet know that we shall overcome the practices that are destructive to humanity.

I have little sympathy for people who demand radical change in a short time frame.

Obama promised change, and change to me means a course correction back in the right direction. Obama has delivered that.

People who demand all or nothing with the first piece of legislation on any given issue are likely to get nothing, and it's their own fault.

These kinds of things are processes, not events.

We all trusted Obama would honor his campaign promises. We believed he was a different kind of politician, that he would bring about change in our government. Instead we have found he man waffling on just about everything. The result is that the republicans and the overly-larger corporations are having their way in spite of the 2008 election. We don't want Obama to fail. We want him to act as we expected him to act when we voted for him. That's all.

I think you are all some GOP trolls because if you listened to Obama campaign he said it would not be easy nor swift to bring change and he was also very quick to point out that he would not make the prefect the enemy of the good on energy. Not to mention that "waffling" is a GOP term and I believe you even had some racist waffle mix during the campaign. So go eat your waffles now--there are probably lots of unsold boxes that are going to go stale.

What it's "called" is irrelevant. The concern is, and always has been, climate change. I guess too many of the lesser educated types thought because it was exceptionally cold and wet in some places, "Hey, how can this be 'global warming' when it's so frigging cold?" So it was changed to a more accurate "name" to advise people about things like seawaters rising, polar ice caps melting and toxic gases being released as a result, agricultural cycles changing, species declining, etc, etc.

A change of two degrees is catastrophic for Mother Earth, but duh types don't have the time to get educated about it.

Climate change has to do with inductive or deductive reasoning. The scientific community uses deductive reasoning.
Example:.
Carbon emissions can cause rising temperatures. We have rising carbon levels, therefore, temperatures will rise.
That is an example of inductive reasoning. Its not scientific. Its speculative. In logic it's called a disjointed sylogism.
Deductive reasoning would be that " Any rise in carbon emissions will cause rising temperatures with all other things being equal."
We have " only" a rise in carbon emissions, therefore rising temperatures."

It's been six months what is taking so long! People please, change takes time. I'm curious, when Bush ran roughshod over Congress with those signing statements the people were up in arms, now you want Obama to pretty much do the same thing, why? Last time I checked you need Congress to do their part. You cast your vote for Obama not Cris Angel! There are 4 yrs. to a term, he already said if you don't like what he has done vote him out, and at this rate the Dems and Progressives are going to. I'm starting to think Dems and Progressives can't function unless Republicans are in charge, thus making you the victim where I think you feel more comfortable.
