The first full-time female FBI agent to be stationed at Guantanamo says she was made to bunk with vermin that gave her a tropical disease and was ostracized because she refused to join in a "spring break" atmosphere in which agents were encouraged to drink, date, and frolic when not interrogating alleged terrorists. She says FBI agents attended parties dressed in "mocking imitation of Arab or Afghan attire" and in orange detainee jumpsuits.

Foley is looking to get back at the people that she didn't like at GITMO and seeks to make some money from it.
She complains that she contracted a tropical disease. Well, she was in the tropics.
She complains that fellow FBI agents drank. They are adults and can do that.
She complains that fellow female FBI agents wore bikinis and were hugged, kissed, probably groped and sat in the laps of male FBI agents. They are adults and can do that.
She complains that her barracks were filthy. Sometimes the person that was living there before you won't clean up before they leave. Nothing stops you from cleaning up the area you will live in.
She complains that FBI agents dressed in mock Afghan and detainee garb. Low class but they are adults and can do that.
She complained that FBI personel were sun bathing, snorkeling, fishing, drinking, carousing and engaging in romantic relationships with each other. They are adults and can do that.
She complained that the FBI would not let her take her pistol qualification test standing instead of kneeling. The test must be the same for everyone to have a comparitive value. If she is ill she can get a waiver until she is healed and take the test then.

Nice try, but your answer is too simplistic. We have federal workplace laws, and drinking, carousing and openly-displayed intra-group romance may not be something they can legally do, as you so flippantly state. Nor can they promulgate an atmosphere where one is ostracized and abused for not participating in axtra-curricular activities, such as drinking and carousing. Also, whether you respect it or not, the LAWS of our country are also violated when someone in the workplace calls another a lesbian and comments on their body parts. Whether everything she claims is true or not is the issue, and not everything (as you have said) she complained about is actionable - merely offensive - but it's not quite as simple as you stated. There is enough there that a court needs to decide.

These accounts have been coming out of the U.S. run "detainee facilities" since the start of this fiasco. The foreign press has been printing items since 2003, but not the American press.
This is only news to AMericans and there is more, and worse to come.
Americans may be anxious to move forward, pretending this never happened.
But if the new AG does not prosecute the conduct unbecoming at the one end and the illegal and horrify torture at the other end of their invasion tactics, the rest of the world will lose whatever respect for the United States that President Obama has managed to salvage.
