I eat these about once a year and will not watch this video. Something done about once a year isn't going to kill you, right? I hope not, haha.

Same here. I eat them once or twice a year -- when I get a taste for them. Go ahead and watch the video, there is nothing gross or unsettling about it and its actually rather interesting.

Bon appetit !!

Are they sure it's pork? Wasn't there a story here recently about bodies disappearing from graves? And isn't Human Flesh supposed to taste like pork?

Trust me...the people on this thread would still eat it.
(I'm not a vegetarian...but I still care about what goes through my body)

I would have no problem eating a human being that died of natural causes IF it tasted good.

Mabey something like-
"The majority of people that eat these 'skins' look like sloppy buckets of cottage cheese".

Gwyneth Paltrow? I think I saw her eat pork rinds in her PBS show, set in Spain. She didn't have these manufactured, processed stuff though. She had the traditional chichirones.

When I start caring about what an emaciated, lackluster, mediocre 'actress-chick' thinks about my choice of junk food indulgences, I'll ask her.

Other than the fact that pork rinds are pork skin fried in pork fat, what is so disturbing about the video?
For anyone who is not a vegetarian, shouldn't be an issue. I think it's good that they are able to use all the parts of the animal
If you are not a vegetarian and eat meat anyway, this is no worse than any other deep fried snack. Animal fat is not nearly as bad as hydrogenated vegetable oil.
Personally I think pork rinds are yummy. :-)

We should increase taxes on pop, sugar, candy, salt, fast food and meat. There should also be a calorie tax, per calorie consumed. Sin Tax – legalize and tax prostitution, polygamy, marijuana, various other drugs, etc. Along these same lines we still have room to increased taxes on most foods and beverages starting with alcoholic beverages.

Your brain is going crazy thinking of all the things we can tax, huh? How about we just tax people who sit at home, don't smoke, don't drink, don't eat meat, don't eat sugar, don't do drugs and just sit at home thinking they're perfect.
Then we can use the tax money to subsidize my pot, beer, steaks, and pork rinds.

Please understand, we're already paying massive taxes to pay for government debt, piled on by a bloated system. How about no taxes at all? You want something, pay for it yourself.

Lard actually has less saturated fats than butter. It is also rendered out in the process, so it's not like it's soaking in lard. It's reusing what they have. Plus, it has a high boiling point, which means it doesn't break down as fast as other oils, creating less carcinogenic compounds. Is it unhealthy? Sure, but if you eat a small amount, it won't be a big deal.

Good information. Thanks.

Thanks for making those points. The fats that build up in our arteries are an attempt by your body's defense system to address the metabolic byproduct induced inflammation that is happening along the interior walls of your arteries at points where the pressure is greatest, in order to cover over the inflammed areas with the body's own soothing insulation: cholesterol. It does not come from animal fat that you've eaten and which has somehow magically appeared in your blood stream. Medical science should be ashamed at letting this meme circulate and perpetuate itself. And if you want to see something awefull...go watch compost being made! Why some vegetarians want me to put that on our food! See...ridiculous is in no short supply, and lies are even more abundant.

There's less bad stuff in pork rinds than you'll find in any hippy-dippy baked potato chips.

Me, I'll take lard over Olean any day, and my computer chair thanks me for it.

Was this supposed to gross me out?
Now I'm just hungry for pork rinds. They're great with salsa.

The workers in the film keep calling the pig's skin "the material."

Ah, where would we be without our euphemisms?

good for them! They are making a product that people buy and enjoy. Better do it while they can, the food police will get them within ten years.

Why not use all an animal that is slaughtered? it seems respectful not to throw any bit away. Personally, the thought of it makes me gag. Look at those poor workers. This was what they wanted to do when they grew up, eh?

If we all did what we wanted to when we were growing up, then no one would clean the sh&t outta the toliets.

Sensible answer. I used to gag when i watched my mother clean garbage out of the bottom of the sink with her bare hands and thought, "If i can ever do that, i will know what 'grown-up' means". I can do that now. I hope each one of those workers has a rich inner life, happy family, and interesting hobbies.
