Meredith Vieira Insults Guest Over Her "Ugly Yellow Dress" (VIDEO)

Meredith Vieira wishes she could take back this extremely rude comment after "The Soup" catches Vieira insulting one of her guests live on the "Today Show."

Vieira was interviewing Janice Lieberman, described as a consumer expert, on the great deals one can get from buying goods at police auctions. After Lieberman lists the wide range of products available, Vieira lets loose this astonishingly inappropriate comment:

I can see all the NBC bean counters, all of my wardrobe is going to be from PropertyRoom.com, starting with (pointing at her guest) that ugly yellow dress.

Groans of amazement can be heard on the set, and Vieira desperately tries to salvage the situation by saying frantically, "No, it looks cute on you. It looks cute on her!"

One person's fashion is another persons horror.

What is considered "fashion" by the "experts" looks absolutely horrible on me. When I have worn "fashionable" colors of eye shadow, I've been asked if I was feeling well.

Michelle Obama was considered by the "experts" to be totally fashion unconscious until they realized that she wasn't listening to them. Suddenly she's a fashion icon.

I'm beginning to think the off the wall statements made by people on television, do it for the shock factor, to get attention. Look back to David Letterman when he made the shocking statement about Sarah's daughter, his numbers jumped, just when he needed something because because of Leno leaving and Conan starting up.

When I finally saw the video and the "dress", I could see where Vieira's coming from. The outfit looks like it was styled by Pearl Bodine!

I'm sorry, but after Katie Couric, Meredith Viera is no one to be talking about how one should dress! Her garb is always the same, dark, outdated frou frou. Will somebody please take over her wardrobe? The best style and color she's worn was when she was at the Summer Olympics. Once home, she was back to the same drab garb. I didn't see the yellow dress in question, but I would not want Meredith Vieria dressing me for any occasion!
