Meredith Vieira Insults Guest Over Her "Ugly Yellow Dress" (VIDEO)

Meredith Vieira wishes she could take back this extremely rude comment after "The Soup" catches Vieira insulting one of her guests live on the "Today Show."

Vieira was interviewing Janice Lieberman, described as a consumer expert, on the great deals one can get from buying goods at police auctions. After Lieberman lists the wide range of products available, Vieira lets loose this astonishingly inappropriate comment:

I can see all the NBC bean counters, all of my wardrobe is going to be from PropertyRoom.com, starting with (pointing at her guest) that ugly yellow dress.

Groans of amazement can be heard on the set, and Vieira desperately tries to salvage the situation by saying frantically, "No, it looks cute on you. It looks cute on her!"

Oh, it's not that bad. Janice Lieberman is on the show all the time, as an employee of NBC. I'm sure these two ladies work together a lot, and have the sort of relationship where this kind of thing can pass. I'll bet Janice will come back at Meredith at some point, all in good fun.

This insult coming from a woman who admitted not being a fan of underwear on national TV! She has kids at home who might be watching. Vieira is without class! The guest should have hurled a glass of water at her - it would have been well-deserved (Branson did it as a joke on Colbert).

It's almost like Meredith was determined to let her opinion be known about the dress and when she got booed then she tried to backpeddle. Too late Meredith - neither you nor Ann Curry have tactful interviewing skills and neither did your predecessor KC. Ann acts too familiar with guests especially the Brad Pitt interview - it's painful to watch. KC let her own opinions slip through i.e. John Edwards interview tho she almost redeemed herself with the Sarah Palin interview. And Meredith lately just is tactless and has no discernment.

I am sure they were kidding. However, Meredith herself is not a very good dresser. She says she likes to hang out in Jeans and a sweatshirt and clothes are not her thing.
