A picture is emerging of Michael Jackson's copious consumption of prescription pills that is downright disturbing. CNN obtained a confidential document that portrays the pop singer as heavily addicted to the powerful anti-anxiety drug Xanax, which Jackson used to battle insomnia.

Jackson was routinely taking more than 10 Xanax pills a night, and was going to extreme lengths to keep up his vast supply, using multiple employees to fill prescriptions of the drug for him under their own names.

According to the document CNN obtained, one Jackson staffer offered this shocking statement: "Jackson was doing better because he was down from 30 to 40 Xanax pills a night."

Additionally, TMZ reports that they've confirmed via law enforcement sources that "Jackson had "dozens" of injection sites and punctures all over his body the day he died."

So much for confidentiality!

Unless they find a person who said they saw with their own eyes MJ consistently take 40 xanax a night, I'd say this is a nonstory.

A Jackson staffer said blah, blah, blah..... Well, where were these staffers then and why didn't they contact the child services?

We'll never know the truth as there's too much hoopla around anything concerning Jackson? And every story is going to be bigger and better - first 10 then 40, next 100, then 10 plus 15 of that and 10 of this.

Does it even matter what his medication/addiction pattern is now? Again, why weren't child services called if he was so out of it?

The only thing we can know will be the toxicology results from his body at death.

But these results, do not insinuate that he did or did not partake daily, weekly or yearly any drugs or at what dosage.

I'm not denying that he may have loved his meds of choice, but "confidential" reports seem like hogwash to me.

Why didn't the staffer contact child services? Is that a serious question?

I agree with you, Lisa.

The least all of these "news" outlets could do is wait for a real, confirmed source or the toxicology reports. All of this "reporting" has been second hand gossip and speculation.

But... but... he was perfect! this couldn't be! Saint Michael would never have allowed himself to be dependent on drugs.

From what I've read, Xanax is not only quite addictive but becomes tolerated very quickly, requiring increasing dosages to have a noticeable effect.

"If we doctors threw all of our medicines into the sea, it would be that much better for our patients and that much worse for the fishes." Oliver Wendell Holmes, M.D. (professor of medicine at Harvard and father of Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., Supreme Court justice)

Every time you take Xanax, you are participating in a trasfer of wealth from ordinary people to the pharma industry, which spends 2 times as much on marketing as it does on research, because it's not about making you well, it's about convincing you to buy.

Look at the footage of MJ's rehearsal the day before he died. There's no way that's a 30-40 xanax a day habit. Think about it.

Thank you! It's good to see someone else with some common sense here. No one with that much Xanax would be able to stand up straight, let alone perform.

And, why is everyone jumping to say what was in his system with the toxicology report isn't back yet?

Over time a body builds up tolerance to narcotics and other drugs, that's why addicts need more and more of their drug of choice to get 'high'. Ask any health care professional.

I know several people, myself included who suffer from an occasional anxiety attacks,
we are all on the same Xanax dosage of 0.25%. Xanax not only relieves the anxiety but
it makes you sleepy. I find 30 to 40 pills a night difficult to imagine, if it is so, Michael
was truly suffering.

If you suffer from OCCASIONAL panic attacks, you only take it as needed, not daily or even weekly.

Wow I guess it's not right to tell the truth about xanax then. I hate that you deleted my post of MY personal experience and what the medical effects of xanax are. Big pharam wins again.

I guess you'll have another of my posts to delete then.

These MDs need to be charged! I can't think of one doc that would prescribe a ridiculous amount of medications on a consistent basis because I wanted it! It seems like they had a client with an enormous fame and wealth therefore all was disregarded as long as MJ was satisfied. Yes, MJ is absolutely responsible for what happened and he paid for it dearly and the so called professionals need to pay for their part.

When he did that interview a few years ago, bouncing his youngest baby boy roughly on his lap, trying to feed him with that ridiculous veil on, it was clear he was high on something. Very sad.
