A picture is emerging of Michael Jackson's copious consumption of prescription pills that is downright disturbing. CNN obtained a confidential document that portrays the pop singer as heavily addicted to the powerful anti-anxiety drug Xanax, which Jackson used to battle insomnia.

Jackson was routinely taking more than 10 Xanax pills a night, and was going to extreme lengths to keep up his vast supply, using multiple employees to fill prescriptions of the drug for him under their own names.

According to the document CNN obtained, one Jackson staffer offered this shocking statement: "Jackson was doing better because he was down from 30 to 40 Xanax pills a night."

Additionally, TMZ reports that they've confirmed via law enforcement sources that "Jackson had "dozens" of injection sites and punctures all over his body the day he died."

As Jimi Hendrix said " i'm the one who has to die when it's time for me to die. so let me live my life as i want to" Look forward to a future where what i do with my head and what i do in my bed...with consenting adults is my freedom of choice.

What about the kids who trusted him to be their father?

Needle marks do not indicate doctors did it. Millions upon millions of diabetes sufferers inject themselves daily. All Jackson needed was the drug. He could do the rest himself.

Powerful people tend to get surrounded by yes men who will do his bidding. In this case, that means getting drugs for him.

That way, they keep their jobs and he gets his drugs.

Prescription drugs are very dangerous, often addictive, and can be lethal. There needs to be tighter controls on them and on the doctors prescribing them. Patients know they can doctor hop and keep getting prescription medication they are addicted to.

But, the profit incentive goes the other way. Drug companies would raise a stink if their products were more tightly controlled/restricted.

We have a system that leads to this sort of problem. Drug companies send around drug reps to promote their products. Doctors hear the drug company propoganda and prescribe them. And people get addicted to them.

TMZ? You're seriously quoting TMZ as a new source?

Where have you been? TMZ is credited with breaking the story of the announcement of his death.
They gained a leg up on the mainstream media.

I do not find TMZ to be a news source no matter where I've been.

All it took was a little lucky guessing to guess that he had died (or just asking someone in the hospital).

Sadly, TMZ has been a more reliable source of breaking news than the mainstream media.

None of what's being reported is breaking news. Breaking news is when the toxicology reports come back and we find out what was in his system. Knowing every single move of his kids and family (including if or when they sneeze or sniffle) is not news.

Apparently MJ just didn't like to look at the "Man in the Mirror" very often. Apparently it gave him insomnia and an urge to have more plastic surgery to change the image.

The mark of a truly loving and committed father.
His biggest crime was to impersonate a father.

Michael could not have said it better himself.

Just leave him alone, leave him alone, just stop dogging him around. Hee, Hee.........

Hee, Hee.......? I'm sorry, I had to laugh. I heard one of his songs the other day, and had never noticed how many times he stuck in that high pitched, "hee-hee".

And, considering, as it was reported, his weight at the time of his death was around 122 lbs., I'd say the manner of his death was inevitable.

Which makes you wonder how true this "news story" really is. If he was taking 40 Xanax a night, he would have died a long time ago. Let's be realistic.

It depends on the milligram, I used to take 10-15 1 milligram zanax a night if he got the .5 double that and so on. I am down to 2 a night. I ended up in the hospital 3 times and not from overdosing but from not taking them. I tried to go cold turkey once and woke up 10 days later in the hospital, my grandmother found me unresponsive on the floor in my room and could not get in because I was in front of the door. A lot has changed and I am on my own now, but those things are very addictive and like alcohol you can build up a huge tolerance.

I don't fully trust the 40 xanax a night but i'm sure he was taking more than necessary!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:18 PM on 07/10/2009

I completely believe the 40mg a night. It's not hard to build up a tolerance to the drug. I mean, did you ever seen footage of him or hear him in an interview? He was nothing like he was as a child or young adult. He was a sensitive, anxious type person with a crazy schedule and many people's incomes depended on him. He was likely prescribed the drug in his twenties, not knowing it was addicting. (Orginally it wasn't thought to be addicting due to its short half-life). He would have had to take a year or more off work at his peak to deal with the addiction properly. At least. Instead he spiraled downward and likely tried a cold turkey--I believe he was in the hospital a lot due to the withdrawal symptoms, which are the fiercer than heroin. Ask Stevie Nicks--she gave up her career due to the same type of drug. And you can't get healthy in 90 days of rehab like with illegal drugs.

My God! I was on Xamax for a while and you're warned not to continue to take this medication for long as it's hightly addictive. One night with 40 pills should have been lethal. This man must have thought that he was bullet proof and inivisible OR simply had a death wish.

When will the media leave this man alone. I am so sick and tired of hearing about this. I never believed the media lies about Michael Jackson and I won't believe them now!

Here's reality...

The media lies. Once in a while they tell the truth. What we believe to be facts are merely claims, since we are not there to witness things first hand. When we adhere to claims as fact we are practicing faith. Those who claim to know what is undoubtedly true or untrue are religious zealots.

"Knowledge is knowing that we cannot know."

Notice how the same people who are posting 2 - 3 times in this thread were the same people who were upset with all the positive media coverage earlier.

They don't seem to mind the amount of coverage.. as long as it's negative.

This is why the doctors who prescribed these medications to MJ should be brought up on murder or manslaughter, at the least, charges:

http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/10/jackson-doc-offers-potent-narcotic-solution/

What kind of doctor would do this? He was a drug pusher with a medical license.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:59 PM on 07/10/2009

According to what I have read, and what appears to be well-know, he was desperate for drugs, and he was going to get them, he)) or high water. If one doctor did not prescribe them, he would find someone who would. He had multiple doctors, and multiple people getting prescriptions for him under different names - security guards, you name it.

is this a surprise?? when mone really thinks of it?/ not really!

how can one really tell how he felt, the dephs of despair he had being falsely accused of those allegations coupled with already tangible physical pain he had from his actual maladies.. with t hese reports of Janet coming to see him in vegas returning to States after his s elf-imposed exile must have brought back that pain.. he just wanted to be numb.
and who can blame him?! He was an acutely sensitive being.. he really was..
what's amazing was he managed to raise those kids the way he did and they must brought great comfort & reason for living in his later years.

it's all terribly sad & tragic really. How I wish he was able to manage & avoid this.

in a way-- it'll even be more tragic if he ended like Howard Hughes.. thank God he was spared that ..

You are right, no matter how much of a celebrity MJ was, he still took on fatherhood greatly and normally.

come on, he hung his infant son over a hotel balcony. jackson was an amazing performer, but let's not guess on his fathering skills based on his talent as an artist.
