Reporting from Washington -- Airplane control problems last summer could have led to disaster for then-Sen. Barack Obama and his presidential campaign, according to a report released Friday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Somebody called me a Rep tro// for stating this as fact. After Hillary's comments which seemed to relate the possibility of Obama's mortality with that of Robert F. Kennedy and conceding the election, Hillary made a deal with Obama for him to use her plane. Supposedly, it was because her plane was better and because she could not afford it anymore. She offered Obama her plane to get out of her contract. Then this happened.

Did the LA Times run of of things that DID happen to talk about, that they had to start writing stories about things that might happened, but didn't?

By your logic, I should be able to loan your car to someone.
The plane was (and is) owned by Midwest Airlines. Unless you can prove that Hillary Clinton has significant pull with Midwest, you can't prove "she" loaned it to Obama. Given her financial issues during the campaign, it's unlikely she continued paying for the plane after she no longer needed it, so it's virtually certain that the Obama campaign was leasing the plane from Midwest.
It was a "loaner" because his regular campaign plane was in being upgraded. People ignore punctuation far too often these days.
Although, if you really want to go in for conspiracy theories, it could have just as easily been an attempt to get rid of Hillary Clinton.

and then an accident that has only been reported twice in aviation history happens to Obama after Hillary had access to it and spoke about the a sass in nation of Robert Kennedy as her way of holding on hope to become president? There are 28,000 commercial flights a day with nary an incident as serious or as rare as this. Are you kidding me?
I read that she could not afford it and that she offered it to him. It is not unusual for people to take over other people's contracts.

It's scary how much is resting on the life of that one man. Maybe we're wrong to think that the country is entering a new era. What would happen if Obama died? A lot of the progress that's been made in the last few months happened because of Obama's charisma rather than because the country has become better educated or more globally aware.

Agreed. The hyperbole around BO is often astounding and downright ludicrous. Good man, good politician, some good policies, some bad decisions as well. I never believed how a large % of the populace could fall for cult figures, but after this election, I know how desparate and rudderless so many people are. As Dostoevsky said of the masses, “In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, ‘make us your slaves, but feed us.’”
Our lack of the structured, rigorous public education of old and a lack of holding people accountable for their own choices (among other things) have left so many people unable/unwilling of taking charge of their own lives. Scary and sad. I hope he does not begin to abuse this power he holds over so many.
