I don't understand the part about the Secret Service sweep. Are they implying it might have been sabotaged? Or that the SS sweep means it definitely WASN'T?
They thought that sabotage was a possibility. They can't rule anything out. I'm sure it was standard operating procedure.
Where was Sarah Palin and her tool belt that day?
They're implying perhaps a Secret Service officer may have touched something he/she wasn't supposed to touch and there by causing the slide to inflate. No where in the article did they accuse the Secret Service of "sabotage".
I think they were checking to see if something got knocked around during the sweep, nothing intentional implied.

They do, but they need to double it on Friday and Saturday nights, IMO the whiskey and gun combo is lethal.

Given the other plane crashes at inopportune times related to elections and investigation, one would not necessarily be irrational to suspect dirty tricks. Carnahan of Missouri, Wellstone of Minnesota, a guy last spring who was nearing giving testimony regarding some Cheney, all came to mind when I read the headline. In this day and age, even a mechanic with an agenda could do something to make a flight catastrophic.
Ron Paul and some other politicians all on the same plane had a similar experience not long after the Obama incident..

Sounds suspicious to me...the secret service...
There were many reports of "laxness" in the Secret Service protection prior to Obama becoming President.
I'm glad everything worked out, but stories like this (and others) do make you wonder.
