It's not like Clinton and Bush expanded the Secret Service of every living president and vice president to life in the middle of their second terms or anything.

Agreed. Should be plenty of protection there. Maybe he can take the wife along? Might even have some special pool activities available for them.

Pres Obama can save the expense of Secret Service protection of Cheney if he authorizes Mr Holder to present the evidence of treason by Cheney to a grand jury. Cheney would be indicted for treason, tried for treason, be found guilty & be sentenced to death. Cheney should be held in the super-max in Florence, Co till he's executed. Keep Cheney in solitary confinement in the super-max till he's executed. The guards at Co's super-max will do a much better job of protecting Cheney than the Secret Service could if Cheney was allowed to be at large.

You forget that there are still about 22 million people that support him. You forget that his approval numbers are going up. You do not see the division this would cause in our country and in our government. Sure it would make the left wing loons happy but the right wing trolls would cling to their guns and bibles. A president has a choice to either make a good political choice, a good moral choice, or a good choice for the country. Ford did this with Nixon. If Obama was faced with the same choice he would pardon Cheney to do what is right for the country and not what is right for p.rogressives.

Nope, no pardon. He can't shut up, he spews treason and encourages sedition and downright makes us ill. Skip the political choice - it would be immoral to "pardon" such a horror as Cheney and i don't care how man reichwingnutz support him.

You can't not have war crimes trials because people support him. That's just crazy. If there is evidence that war crimes were committed then you must prosecute even if the criminals have everyone's support. Divided country or not.

And you forget that even sixty-some years later, there are still people who approve of Der Fuehrer and the things that he did. Millions of Russians missed tough old Uncle Joe after he was gone. Pol Pot had very high popularity among the Cambodian peasants for his actions against their neighbors and fellow citizens who had the affrontry to be, well, educated.

You know, what this all comes down to is that, sure, everybody is entitled to an opinion... but some opinions are one HELL of a lot better than others--and the defense of tyrants is never among the better of opinions. Cheney, tinpot-wannabe that he seems to have been, was certainly not in the class of Hitler, Stalin, etc., but I sure would not have wanted to live in a world where dictatorship fell into that man's lap. He would have abused absolute power even worse than he abused the US Constitution... the Constitution he was sworn to defend but spit upon instead.

Ford was wrong when he pardoned Nixon and that's why he never was elected as president of the United States. Nixon wasn't guilty of war crimes. Bush and Cheney are and that's a whole different ball game.

Nixon - Ford occurred before 24 hour news, Bing and Google. There is no way the President will pardon Cheney with solid evidence he violated the Constitution. Unless he wants to be a one term President, and I don't think he is wired that way.

Holder doesn't need Obama's authorization to present evidence to a grand jury. Holder can do it on his own volition.

Yep, keep him talking and protect his sorry hide with our money just to be sure he either sings like a canary and/or rats out a whole nest of weasels (do they live in nests?). Gotta keep that shapeshifter's skin on until he gets to sit in the docks and get a chance to defend his crimes, which he admitted to.

Can you Libs give me an estimate-in just whay year will Bush, Cheney,Rove, etc,. be charged? So many crimes and no charges yet? Maybe not that many crimes?

They haven't been charged because no crime has been committed. It is all in your mind. Lets see how many Americans will die under Obamas reckless policies. He is the one setting the terrorist free. By the time Obama is done he won't be able to hod a candle up to Bush. Mark my words. His numbers are already tanking and the only reason why they are still holding up is because the mainstream media is still covering for him

The expression is "hold a candle to," not "hold a candle up to." I'd dispute your claims but it's not fair to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

Haven't been paying attention, have you?
The crimes are obvious and there are so many that there isn't room here to list them but they span from ducking Congressional oversight to illegal surveillance, kidnapping, torture and murder. The Iraq matter was a complete fabrication out of the Executive Offices with Doug Fieth and the Office of Intelligence Manipulation that they maintained at the Pentagon. And we can also add treason, since it was Cheney who leaked Valerie Plames identity... and if we dig back deep enough, election fraud.

There is a crime scene, bodies everywhere, guys covered in blood from hundreds of thousands of dead noncombatants and babbling about self defense... its all there. And when the CIA Inspector General report is released, we will learn some more about how illegal the torture and rendition program was...

Only a fascist would think that the the last Administration was clean....

As for prosecution, just wait... there is more going on behind the scenes than you and I know. I do know that there investigations that are ongoing and as they continue we will be pusing for an accounting.

Obama is a genius. Let Cheney shoot his mouth off, he has no cred. One man's protection is another's 24/7 surveillance. Keep Cheney "safe" and keep us safe from him.
