Chanel

Producing haute couture clothing is a labor-intensive task from the beginning sketch to the final gown. Chanel documented one dress's creation, filming two seamstresses' flawless stitching, pining and piping and the individual sewing of each sequin. Everything is done by hand and the entire outfit takes days to complete.

OMG, this is hysterical! MO hosting fashion design awards? BWA-HA-HA!

One thing I give her props for, though, is creating the free hour-long programs for the hoi polloi.

I love watching the women's hands. The skill and dexterity which they have is amazing. Hypnotic. Makes you appreciate all of the world's unique craftsmen and women out there who make wonderful creations w/their hands. It's too bad our country did away w/it's textile industry. Some of our vintage garments (I collect some) were made so well. sigh...

Gorgeous work of art. You would hope the person rich enough to buy that would appreciate it enough to wear it more than once.

Wow. No wonder these outfits cost in the five figures. You'd have to make sure you stayed the same size! This is definitely one gorgeous piece of craftsmanship.
