As there aren't any wild bengal tigers in Africa, is that a photo of a rare white lion cub? Looks like one to me. If that is a tiger, is there a Capetown in Asia somewhere?

Just trying to keep my zoological inner map updated.

It's a tiger (although I thought it was a white lion at first glance also). Here's the full article:

Observing animals helps us to understand what it is to be human. Saving animals from extinction, by saving their habitats, is in the end a selfish thing to do, because it is good for us as well as them.

I enjoy the animal stories (and the baby tiger is adorable) but the drunk badger was the funniest IMO.

Pound for pound, they are the most powerful mammals in the world, and they are famous for having bad tempers. Treat with extreme caution.

Unfortunately we don't historically have badgers in my area, so I won't be seeing one - drunken or otherwise - unless I go to the zoo.

We should also tax pets for their contribution to green house gases and consumption. Include a 100% excess pet tax for all pets over one. There will also be a pet weight tax. All farm animals will be considered pets for tax purposes. Zoo animals must be freed or taxed.

Badgers, we don't need no stinking badgers.

inre animals being afraid of fireworks: I am of the opinion that all foreworks should be banned. The "rocket's red glare" was, and is not, a good thing. Those rockets killed people. Fireworks scare domestic as well as wild animals. Must the men men with small, um, firecrackers compensate with explosives. Why do we, as a country, still allow this inanity?
