I was just wondering that myself, until I read that it was a Homeland Security Top Secret clearance. Then I thought, oh yeah, Homeland Security, big deal. I suspect, since the states are "Homeland" that ALL governors probably have Top Secret Homeland Security clearances, although the story should make this clear. (I don't know if it does because I didn't read all of it and I'm not about to.)

Argentina owes the US quite a bit of money in loans. "Sanford, not the U.S. Commerce Department, contacted the U.S. Embassy for ... Argentina didn't agree to pay its debt to the Paris Club". This Sanford story is far deeper than a love affair. Remember, the lover, Maria was formally a news reporter. I think we need to learn more about how and when they met. Something is very fishy about all of this.

How was Sanford a governor which is an agent of the US able to sneak in and out of the country so readily? He was able to spent days in another country with no record of him going to another country.
Who is Maria, really, who is she? Why haven't news reporters been sent to Argentina to get the rest of the story. What other involvement does the CStreet "Family" have to do with the cover up? Why hasn't Sanford's clearence been revoked?

Security clearance? That should have been the first thing pulled followed by removing him from office. He spent tax payer money on his affair? Paying it back is not sufficient, he should be legally sanctioned. If a citizen of the country took someone elses money for personal use without permission it is called theft, and they would be prosecuted. Just get rid of this guy once and for all.Im sick of looking at his petty stories.
