What an insult to our intelligence.
They would have been better off to say nothing.

They planned to kill top al-Qaeda operatives? that's no secret.

Disinfo from WSJ.

Of course, it was. Of course it was. I'm glad they cleared that up. I totally believe their explanation. Now I can stop worrying about this.

This is WSJ doing Cheney a favor.

I'm sorry but this is lame, there have been black ops missions before and there was something about this particular program that created lots on controversy. I certainly don't agree with the shoot first ask questions later approach but we already knew about the playing cards with the high value targets on them.

There is something they are not telling us or are intentionally misleading us.

And the comment "The former official said he had been told that President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney didn't support such an operation" totally contradicts the previous assertion. This story is BS.

Looks like this is just a simple case of CIA damage control. I don't believe this. Even Republican Pete Hoekstra of all people claimed he would never have allowed this program to happen had he known about it!

Highly unlikely since this is coming from someone in the gop. Even Clinton made a public announcement about signing a Presidential Initiative to assassinate bin ladin.

That would not have needed to be a secret program.

Duh.

I don't believe this.

The program was also used to spy on the political opponents of George W. Bush.

Or Labor Unions, or environmentalists, equal rights advocates, etc. The WSJ is a propaganda tool for corporate business, which is not about democratic institutions, rather power-hungry and greedy elite sychophants of every degree.
