Burmese Refugees Sold As Slaves In Malaysia (VIDEO)

In Malaysia, some immigration officials have been accused of involvement in selling refugees from Myanmar, also known as Burma, to gangs in Thailand.

The attorney general's office in Malaysia says 10 immigration officers are being investigated after the U.S. State Department placed Malaysia on its list of the world's worst human trafficking offenders last month.

Karen Zusman, an independent journalist, recently returned from Malaysia, where she reported on the plight of the Burmese refugees.

You have to remember that the Bell Curve applies to most everything, not just IQ spread across the population. If the average IQ is 100, then that means there is a 5% that are unattractively called "morons" and there are 5% off the map "geniuses." Now apply that to people's degree of empathy, moral understanding of right and wrong, or great environment or cruel harsh environments, and you have 5% of individuals that become bad people in various ways. Some people can kill incapable of remorse, and others may just steel, and others will get as close to the line as possible without getting caught. Since it is inevitable that we will have have a full range of good to bad people, that is why we need strong regulations in many civil concerns. No matter where we as society draw the line, there will be people crossing it to one degree or another.

Yes, it is unbelievable. It makes one question: "Are our freedoms, ideals, dreams, and accomplishments merely illusions?" I'm glad to be free here in America, but when such truth about the atrocities inflicted upon human life crosses my eyes my freedom feels a bit hollow.
