A majority of Americans believe that Sarah Palin is resigning as governor of Alaska not because it's in the best interest of her state but because it will benefit her political career, a new CBS News poll finds.

In Canada the poll results are that a majority simply couldn't understand what she said never mind what her reasons were. Her and her supporters scare the Jesus out of me (pun intended). They are a fundamentalist religious fringe hate group that do cling to the their guns and bibles. Most are completely uneducated but their blind ignorance and false patriotism can be preyed upon to whip up a frenzy and incite the lunatics to commit heinous acts against those that they disagree with. It is stunning to me that, after being hounded and pounded and told to go away, Palin did. And that still doesn't satisfy those who would denigrate her.

I don't know why she quit. But I'd guess that the incessant attacks on her family probably led the list.

She complains about attacks on her family. From whom? Comedians and a couple political bloggers yet she is so quick to attack her daughter's ex-boyfriend, the bloggers, the media, President Obama and so on.

She complains about ethics filings and lies about the money spent. One of those ethics complaints came from her. That one cost over $100,000. Now her quitting will force a special session that will cost over $150,000. So who is costing AK citizens money?

If Governor word salad just went back to Alaska and did her job instead of jumping in front of the camera and spouting her mouth off every chance she had she wouldn't have been "hounded" by the media. If the Governor followed Alaskan ethics laws and commuted to work like most Americans, didn't take her kids with her to stay in $1,000 a night hotels, fire a police chief because he wouldn't fire a trooper that she had a grudge against, fire a librarian for refusing to pull certain books and so on, she wouldn't have had so many ethics complaints filed against her.

Her's and your logic seem to be lacking just that - logic.

I think her op-ed in yesterday's WaPo tells you why she quit. Like Bush, she cannot tolerate losing or being told no, so she is determined to go after all who doubter her with a vengence. Remeber, she thought SHE was running against Obama, not McCain. It still galls her that the community organizer with no real responsibilities defeated the governor of the largest state who has real responsibilities.

And she's out to prove a point.

Plus, like most hot women, she is unaccustomed to not getting her way, and that was becoming increasingly difficult for her in AK.

Governor of the "largest state"? Is that a joke? Landmass don't count in this game. And just for the record, Obama was the executive of his own campaign and of barackobama.com, both of which had more employees than the state of Alaska. And he is aware of more than one supreme court case...kind of an important qualification when appointing SCOTUS members, don't you think? Sarah Palin also made rape victims pay for their own rape kits...this has nothing to do with the conversation, but I feel it's always good to bring up.

I agree with you overall, and only say this to be friendly to your cause here, which is also mine; she didn't actually make rape victims pay for their own rape kits. You can look this up. It's better to check out these kinds of charges before posting, because our real points can get clouded by exaggerations and misrepresentations of any kind, no matter how innocent or accidental.
Again, I am a big Obama fan, can't believe people compare Palin to him in any way. As if. But since we can easily win any argument with logic and by backing our opinions up with facts, that's the level we should go at it from. Obama is smart, well-tempered, and studied while Palin is willfully ignorant, temperamentally unsuited to serious office, and proud of it. Those are the facts.

Runnin' for an office means work and accountability which Palin has proven she can't do on several levels. Too much work and she does not have enough high school friends that are qualified to go to the next level. You like cows makes you qualified won't work again.

Going to someones fundraiser or rally is a way to collect a paycheck until the scam is over or until the ones fronting the money gets wise or tired.

Reminds me of the movies where the con man has to leave town because the local people are catching on. For now it is a new town, new con game until it is over.

It is also about protecting the book deal. You have to keep people interested until the goods are delivered, then it is payday baby!
