while i think it's comical, this is still good news for democrats. b/c palin's supporters, which incompass most of the gop base loves the fact she did this. this is helping to solitify her as the gop front runner next turn in 2012. i think that's good news for us dems, i'd love to run against her in '12. we'd beat her like reagan beat mondale.

I think a lot of Palin's success has been dumb luck. Think about her history. Runs for governor when there's several opponents and a history of scandal. She wins. A doddering, desparate presidential nominee needs a wildcard. She wins. A 24 hour cable news fest that covers everything ad nauseum. She wins.
Now, if she'll just go away, I'll win

Huh . . . who knew?

If this poll is accurate (and looking at that CBS News pie chart, the total comes to only 90%, so either someone can't add or can't make accurate pie charts), then a majority of those polls believe she is lying, right? She made a false claim about her reason(s) for resigning and 52% of those polls don't believe she was tellling the truth, right?

So, my question is, if that is true, why are so many people supporting her, unless they have no problem supporting a bald-faced liar?

Can anyone explain this?

read up on the Dominionist christians trying to take over the country. They do not care if their leaders are flawed liars (I give you Sanford, Enisgn, etc). According to their new interprettation of the bible (no this isn't not a joke), God wants these Republicans to be in charge and they deserve to have all of the power, no matter how they act. they have special privileges to mess up. That's why their folowers don't care when they are hypocrites.

Rushpublicans are comforted when they are lied to. It is obvious by how little they care when the frequent lies are told.

It's all about Me Me Me when it comes to Sarah...any other theme would be Money Money Money. She is distasteful on every level.

"Me Me Me..." is the stuff from which dynasties and empires were bulit...

Adolph even wrote a famous book which started with the word, "Mein..."

Count me in the 14% who don't know why she did it. I have my suspicions, however, which are that she is interested in large crowds but not in the hard work of governing, that she is extremely thin-skinned and likes dishing out whatever slander enters her mind but isn't so good at taking the blowback, and that she is an unstable, extremely narcissistic personality who acts on how she feels at any given moment rather than on any rational plan. I suspect that Alaska is genuinely better off without her, and we'd all be better off if she spent more time caring for her children and tending to their needs rather than using them to further her misbegotten political "career."

Palin likes money - it is that simple. She needed public office long enough to build up an interest, now that she has an audience she is moving to the next step, dump the public and make some money.

It's ALL about MONEY! SP will not run for Congress or for president, but she will run for the money. Running for an offce would create many problems: 1) Remember that she never revealed any true medical records as John McCain's vp candidate. A one-page "report" was revealed the night before the election or close to election time. Whatever the problem was then, she will still not want a reveal. 2) Remember that financial records are examined closely, and some things will come out about her income, as well as about other finances that she's picked up. 3) Remember that SP accuses the media for her "problems"; if the media doesn't really look at her, then there will be a true problem because people will want to know what's being "covered up". 4) When the term "anxious" comes out, there is the need to know about "anxiety", especially if the person is running for president. When someone walks away from a job--quits before the job ends--there certainly is concern about someone holding the job that's really a pressure cooker! No matter how it's spun, SP quit.

SARAH PALIN CALLED A FAMILY MEETING AND THE RABBIT LIVED…
Margaret, I watched Sarah Palin’s resignation speech and all I have to say is, “What the hell was that?” My God that woman is an idiot. I have said this before, but I feel the need to say it again. Her problems did not come because the media was against her. Her problems come because every time you stick a microphone in front of her mouth a whole lot of stupid falls out.

Things are getting tough and once again she is trying to hide behind that dysfunctional family of hers. She actually stood there and talked about how the Palins had a family meeting and everyone agreed it was time for her to step down as Governor. Well, I call bullshit. The only family meetings the Palins have usually involve someone peeing on an early pregnancy test stick.

The time to step down would have been back when the older daughter was knocked up and needed a little privacy. The time to have stepped down would have been when the special needs child was a newborn and needed some peace and quiet at home with the family. The time to put the voters or her family first hasn’t happened with Sarah Palin yet and I doubt it ever will.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been saying this since she was nominated. It makes me nearly insane that the woman touted as being "all about her family" was willing to sacrifice them in pursuit of her own delusions of grandeur.

It seems Palin was too busy to ever meet wit the Swine FLu people. what was she doing? Well, um, she was arguing against taking stimulus money. citing reasons that do not exist.

Then a bunch of people in Alaska came down with Swine Flu.

You know, these Repubican clowns like Pain and Sanford put the entire country at risk with their idiodic behavior. Both of them refusing stim money (not most of it, just enough to hurt their constituents) -- which impacts our entire economy, not just their state. Both of them irresponsible and not conducting the barest minimum of their job description.

now the Swine Flu is growing....will anyone ever call Palin to account for pulling a BUSH and ignoring it completely so se could pursue her bitter vendetta against Obama who beat her (in her mind, it was a race with her against Obama, and you can see that in everything she says and does). Another Republican whose personal feelings override judgment.

To clarify, the Health Dept officials traveled to Alaska to see her about the Swine Flu an she blew them off completely.

Science probably turned her off? Or is her need for revenge so great that she can't even deal with a pandemic?

Or perhaps they don't need to talk to the governor. She has a health services department for that.

Don't forget Jindal's volcano monitoring attack followed closely by an eruption

I think that the Big Guy upstairs is trying to tell the "Christians" in the GOP something, but they are too blind to see it.

It's not like that train wreck of a news conference convinced any one. I don't care what she dose, as long as she dose it in Alaska.

If she does decide to run in 2012, she will need to
produce her medical records. For some reason she
had issues with producing them when campaigning
with McCain. I think she's hiding something medically.

Some previous mental counselling, perhaps?

Given her recent behavior, it might a strong candidate.

The public has Palin Fatigue.. One of the symptoms is that you are no longer blinded by Palin's outer beauty, thus able to see he agenda of self-interest with greater clarity. Recognition of arrogant incompetence is another symptom.

Hilarious, CBS the attempt is very limp & shrieks "out of touch".

More times then not in our history it has taken a woman to show the way. Good on her.

Last August, just days after Sarah Palin's VP nomination, then Major General Campbell told the AP the governor had no control over the Alaska Air National Guard. He continued breaking down the meme of her experience in an interview with the Boston Globe.

All her experience is a joke. This woman ran up the debt of her home town from 0 to over 20 million in a single term - they will be paying for generations.

Will Palin's supporters till be for her when she's no longer attractive? Judging by a lot of these pics, her looks are fading. She's no Carla Bruni, that's for sure.

She doesn't need to rely on her looks to cause a stir. All she needs to do is spew the usual right-wing rhetoric to inflame the fringe element.

You think so? Nobody really gets excited about Huckabee. There really is no big difference between the two, except he's significantly less attractive.

Attractiveness was one of the few arrows in Palin's quiver...if that goes, what does she have left?

There's that pesky 24%, again.
To think they blended into the population largely un-noticed until disaster struck.
Like cancer cells.
