Washington Post:

There is no shortage of threats to our economy. America's unemployment rate recently hit its highest mark in more than 25 years and is expected to continue climbing. Worries are widespread that even when the economy finally rebounds, the recovery won't bring jobs. Our nation's debt is unsustainable, and the federal government's reach into the private sector is unprecedented.

Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of these challenges. So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be:

This woman's addiction to attention is starting to make me miss Anna Nicole Smith.

LOL. That dishonest dress dummy could no more write a newspaper column than a sled dog could sing an aria by Verdi.

Here's an excerpt of Sarah Palin's article on Cap and Trade from today's edition of the Wash Post. Keep in mind that this is the pre-edited/spellchecked version:

Dear Readers,

Buy now you no that I quit as Govenor of Alaska. Much of my decision for quiting came because peple were making fun of me and, also too, Levi was saying lots of things that were dis-true. In any case, let me get to what I wanted to say hear. Cap and trade is a sereiuss subjict with me because I think it's ded wrong to trade caps once someone gives them to you. Also too, just the other day, someone gave me a cap for the local Wasilla Bears baseball teem and the last thing in the world I would do is trade it because then I would be acused of being dis-unloyal to my hometown basseball teem. I have every cap anyone has given me and never traded a single one. So, in summiery, I'd lik to say, keep your caps, don't trade them as this is truely a sign of being dis-unloyal. THak you so much for listening.

If everyone in America would go out and kill a moose, talk to a teen about abstinence, and learn to wink, the economy would improve in a matter of days.

Never trust an op-ed writer that punctuates with exclamation points.

Beyond that, Palin simply trods the same path as so many other Repubs - if Obama wants it, it must be bad. She fails to address the reality that if the U.S. is to become energy independent while still using roughly the same mix of coal and oil sources, the cost of that oil will be very high because most U.S. oil reserves are in very deep water, in arctic climates, or bound up in oil shale or oil sand.

Isn't she supposed to be busy being a money-grubbing-quitting-her-governor-post renegade? If she didn't know what the Bush doctrine was - how on earth can she comment on anything else???

Funny...the dummy supported cap and trade during the campaign. She doesn't know if she's coming or going.

She's quite the energy expert. It's laughable how much she doesn't know what she doesn't know.

Maybe Palin is working for the dems. If she is against cap and trade then the majority of Americans are sure to get behind it.

Palin picked a good topic for her article; "Cap and Trade" scks.

Climate change can only be addressed effectively within a comprehensive framework that includes a new tax structure, improved health care, new infrastructure, new research programs. By itself, a "Cap and Trade" tax is NOT a step in the right direction. It's just a political ploy.

Sarah Palin was for cap-and-trade before she was against it... Another mavericky reversal! Who can keep up?

There are many that ridicule her and say she couldn't possibly have written this piece. That she just signed her name to it and was ghost writing. Let's not forget that she was a journalism major. I absolutely believe that she wrote this because I read it. It's the same repub, right wing drivel that you'd expect. Condemnation of something without understanding the facts. Shouting down detractors without hearing their side. Promotion of something that's already been proven not to work. Criticism of something that may or may not work but jumping to the conclusion without the emperical evidence to back it up that it won't work. She's like an algebra student who's been given a problem. Not only does she not give the right answer, but she doesn't show her work and so the teacher can only tell her that she is wrong and not why.
