" Sarah Palin's Pipeline"

Gee I thought the pipeline belonged to the citizens of Alaska--not Palin...

If you do some research, we have more then enough natural gas right now. Second, she was set to give a bid for the pipe line to a backer of hers, but that got squashed when people found out about it. She didn't submit any ideas to the legislature this year for any funding, so it's not even near ready for funding. The state can't afford to build it, they are in the red. Last, I understand it's going to take ten years before that line is in place. Someone really needs to get this info together and slam her with it.

Not sure if you saw the Joe McGinniss article in Portfolio back in Feb. on "the gasline to nowhere." He did very good research on the sorry state of her co-called pipeline.

This was and is still a bad idea. Increasing the supply of natural gas in the market will further drive down the already-low prices. The expected revenues do not justify making such a huge upfront investment. And, of course, as some posters have pointed out already, there is the issue of ecological damage as well as the potential legal troubles of the pipeline going through Aboriginal lands. So, yeah, too much main for not enough gain.

Worries about ecology have never worried Palin. I'd ask the polar bear and beluga whale, but they're on the endangered list. I'd ask the wolves, but they're hiding from Palin's armed aircraft. I'd ask the moose, but they heard rumors of "chili" and headed into the wilds.

It's Alaska's pipeline, not Palin's.

The pipeline has been proposed numerous times since the 70s and has been stalled because natural gas prices couldn't justify the immense cost..

It will NEVER be, no matter what the price of gas. The pipeline would have to go across lands owned by native canadians and they have sovereign control over that land and have told the Canadian and US government---Thanks but No thanks.
It was never more than a pipe dream.

The Oil Companies won't build it unless tax payers pay for it and then give it to them for nothing. Plus future tax breaks and subsidies.

"Palin" pipeline has been in the works since the 1970's in Alaska.

"Palin" basically had "F" all to do with it.

Since she has only been the governor for 1 1/2 years before she became THE QUITTA FROM WASSILLA, or BALIN' PALIN, the DECADES of work from others makes it:

"Alaska's pipeline"

Thank you very much.

It's going to be tough to lay pipe in Alaska where the permafrost is no longer perma. The ground gets spongy and starts giving off methane.
