Caller Reduces Glenn Beck To High-Pitched Hissy Fit

Nutlog Fox News Channel comedian Glenn Beck was apparently doing his radio show today, when he finally got so sick of what some caller was telling him about health care in the Netherlands that he went to his "death metal" place, angrily spitting envenomed barbs of invective back at the lady on the other line. It was crazy and growly and scary! But that was nothing! Mere seconds later, when the woman said something to the effect that Beck didn't care about people without health care, and yet he was cool with big bank bailouts, Beck somehow found a much higher level of TOTAL CRAZYSAUCE than ever before! Suddenly, Beck was emitting horrifying high-pitched shrieks, wailing, "GET OFF MY PHONE! GET OFF MY PHONE!" and a bunch of other terrifying stuff that only dogs can hear. Jeezy creezy the guy is just all messed up inside!

Of course, it's probably true that the woman had never tuned in to Beck's radio show before because, if she had, she would know that Beck really isn't a fan of the bank bailouts. She'd also know that his opinion on health care reform is basically limited to whining about that one time he went in for ass-surgery and barely survived to make a terrifying YouTube video in the style of the Blair Witch Project about how he had scary drugged-up visions that left him angry that the people who treated him at the hospital did not give him the rich-person compassion that he felt he deserved.

Anyway, Glenn Beck screaming like a cartoon mouse being stabbed in the scrotum with knitting needles is your new, terrifying ringtone. Warning: Once you listen to this clip, you can never un-listen to it.

If you have a life threatening ailment in Canada you go to the top of the list and you can chose your doctors. The few Canadians that claim they are unhappy with our medicare system are fed the lies of the right- huge waiting times. If people were paying there were still be waiting times. Your facts about Canadian health care and their citizens running to the U.S. for care are simply inaccurate and unsubstantiated. And no, one major reason why 'we' are broke is because 'your' president G.W. Bush illegally started a war in which we spend millions and billions of dollars on. Those same dollars could have been better spent defending our soil and updating our infrastructure.

I have several Canadian friends and they are all very unhappy with their healthcare system. They do come here for an alternative. Well for starters, how about actually trying to understand what's actually broken before trying to apply a "fix." Since we're on the subject of health care, would you want your doctor to prescribe a therapy without first conducting a thorough exam? Too many people are in a rush to "fix" something before they even know what's really wrong. Just saying "it costs to much" doesn't explain anything. Can anyone tell me where all the money is going? Has anyone actually "followed the money?" No, because the only thing that matters to people is opinion. For example people want to think they are being ripped off by insurance, be can anyone show facts and evidence of where the money goes and not just opinion? Has anyone actually looked at where a dollar goes from you pocket all the way through to providing medical services and therapies?

When I heard this, I tried to find a logical reason for this kind of behavior. There are two possible explanations:

1. Beck is barking mad. The likeliest explanation.

2. Beck is NOT barking mad and considers this kind of thing "funny". It's supposed to be entertaining. Right Wing Theater of the Mind, if you will.

Either way, he's SO wrong.

I grew up in a British commonwealth and I had a serious illness that was diagnosed in the morning and by early afternoon(the same day), I was admitted to the hospital for THREE MONTHS in a private room.

I am also married to a French man, and it is true you do not have to be French to seek treatment while visiting this Gaelic nation, if you break an arm or leg or come down with a dangerous illness you will be treated by French doctors, some of which are, the best in the world. Citizenship is not a prerequisite.

Glenn Beck is expostulating, like many rabid conservative talking heads, on topics he knows NOTHING about. It's all about his opinion and is not fact based which is why he became so enraged when challenged. He's a lunatic.

I can vouch for the French health care system. Two years ago when my daughter was living in France for several months, she slipped on ice and broke her wrist quite badly. She had to have surgery twice to have pins put in and later removed. She still talks about the wonderful, compassionate care she got there...an­d how easy it was to get the care she needed, even though she was a visitor in the country. AND her wrist healed perfectly after a great surgeon did his job well. She also saw what great preventative care they have in France AND that doctors will make house calls...at no cost to patients. She cannot believe the lies being told here about the French system and other countries' health care systems. We are the only country with so many resources that does not have enough compassion to care for each person in the decent and dignified way that all human beings deserve.

Because there is a large group of us who are selfish lot and think they might be forced to help someone that they justify not doing by calling them lazy or stupid. Sure, there are people like that, but the vast majority are hard working people who simply can't afford the exorbitant price of health care. IF your employer provides it, they pay a much greater cost that then employee, so the employee never really see what the true cost is. If you have to pay for your own, it's $500 or more per month. If you can't be insured for your pre-existing condition, it's just tough.

Over 22,000 people (men, women and children) die in this country annually due to lack of health insurance. That's on 8,000 less than those that die in car crashes.

No one is asking for a free ride. Everyone should have to pay something. But it has to be affordable based on their means to pay for it. Those who can afford more should pay more. A flat percentage of your income (2.2%) is the figure in the Sanders bill is a small price (and probably about what most people are already paying in premiums) to pay for everyone to have health care. Plus Sanders bill calls for no copays or deductibles. At 2.2% for most people that would be a good deal.

Plus it would relieves businesses of the burden of paying their portion of health care costs and put them on a level playing field with all the other industrialized countries that have single payer health care. It would mean more profits for the company which could mean more jobs and/or higher wages.

Perhaps you should go there to see what it's like for yourself, rather than listening the to talking heads whose agenda it is is to discredit anything Obama is trying to do. They've gotten everything they wanted for the last 8 years by fear mongering and they think it will still work.
