I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Nutlog Fox News Channel comedian Glenn Beck was apparently doing his radio show today, when he finally got so sick of what some caller was telling him about health care in the Netherlands that he went to his "death metal" place, angrily spitting envenomed barbs of invective back at the lady on the other line. It was crazy and growly and scary! But that was nothing! Mere seconds later, when the woman said something to the effect that Beck didn't care about people without health care, and yet he was cool with big bank bailouts, Beck somehow found a much higher level of TOTAL CRAZYSAUCE than ever before! Suddenly, Beck was emitting horrifying high-pitched shrieks, wailing, "GET OFF MY PHONE! GET OFF MY PHONE!" and a bunch of other terrifying stuff that only dogs can hear. Jeezy creezy the guy is just all messed up inside!

[LISTEN]

Of course, it's probably true that the woman had never tuned in to Beck's radio show before because, if she had, she would know that Beck really isn't a fan of the bank bailouts. She'd also know that his opinion on health care reform is basically limited to whining about that one time he went in for ass-surgery and barely survived to make a terrifying YouTube video in the style of the Blair Witch Project about how he had scary drugged-up visions that left him angry that the people who treated him at the hospital did not give him the rich-person compassion that he felt he deserved.

Anyway, Glenn Beck screaming like a cartoon mouse being stabbed in the scrotum with knitting needles is your new, terrifying ringtone. Warning: Once you listen to this clip, you can never un-listen to it.

obviously neither the writer--nor many of you posting here--have listened to Beck when he started his talk show on WFLA in Tampa after 9-11: THIS IS JUST PART OF HIS "SCHTICK"!! HE HAS DONE IT FOR YEARS!!! HE EVEN DOES IT WITH HIS "FAKE" CALLERS!!!

Lets not get too full of ourselves and think this is 'real"!!!

This was the first time I have ever bothered to listen to anything from Beck. Is this typical behavior? What on earth is wrong with this, oh lets say "being." I don't care what your opinions tend to be, this is utterly contemptible tantrum throwing outside of perhaps a very small child with severe behavioral problems.
Admittedly, I find it is no longer worth my time to waste any portion of my life paying attention to this genre. They are not interested in any sort of thoughtful discussion or exchange of ideas. They are entertainers and attention whores trying to keep their ratings up via controversy.. this is what they are paid to do and sadly there are many people who are happy to listen and nod their heads like mentally deficient monkeys.
What a very very sad place we seem to have come to as a society.

I agree 100%. I won't even watch Fox Noise with the mute button activated. It's not even entertainment. It is just red meat for the neo cons. You would think Obama and ordinary well educated people were terrorists or something by the way they act.

Dear Mr. Beck,

You are one of the wimpiest, idiotic, lamest, and rude people I have ever seen or heard. I can't believe the hissy fit you threw with that nice lady. You better hope that you or any other family member doesn't lose your health insurance. All American's are entitled to decent health care. Glad to see you went to Fox Noise because CNN was too deep for your shallow mind.

Isn't it amazing that these "flaming conservatives " never bring up the fact that one of our biggest recipients of
foreign aid" has socialized medicine; Israel. Do you think they could afford it if we stopped all that aid?
It works out to $14,000 per person per year that we give them. How many other countries do we give aid to that have socialized systems for health care? And yet the right says that we don't deserve it.
The jobs would stay here if we had a single payer health plan as in our good neighbors to the north.

Good point. One problem though... you mentioned, "'flaming conservatives' never bring up the fact that..." Here's the rub, conservatives never bring up the 'fact's ever, what makes you think they would start now?

We need 'Truth in Media' legislation to force people like Beck and Limbaugh to admit to listeners that they are 'entertainment' programs, their discussions are based on opinions, not facts, and that the content of their shows should not be consired truthful or factual.

People like Beck and Limbaugh have about as much credibility as Ted Baxter from the Mary Tyler Moore show, but people still believe what they say.

Uhh. No we don't. Unconstitutional two-edged sword and all that. Might as well pass anti-idiocy laws.

So, just so I understand you correctly, you support lies in the national media, intentional disemination of disinformation and promoting ignorance among the American public?

Hi there,

I'm a Canadian victim of our horrible doctor's office LOTTERY, LOL! Someone must STOP THIS!

I know that most Americans are not as ignorant as our friend Beck, but just in case there are a few people floating around out there that may not have known the difference, it goes a little something like this:

In most of Canada, everyone has a health card that entitles them to the same service that everyone else has. This card is paid for by taxes. People who make more money pay more taxes. Usually people who make under 25 grand per year pay almost no taxes. At home I have the option of going to any number of medical clinics and will always be treated within the hour. I can also go to any hospital at any time I'm sick or injured and I get top quality medical care. I just present my health card that shows my province of residence and I receive no bill. The card can be used anywhere in Canada.

In other provinces in Canada, health care cards are heavily subsidized but people have to make separate small monthly payments for health care. When tax time comes, those who make less money get reimbursed in the form of a tax credit.

Oh one more thing, Beck - no one is suing anyone for anything medical in Canada. Unheard of! Seriously, it's just not our docile style :)

Cool? Cool. Ciao for now friends

Healthily yours,

Stephanie

Thanks Stephanie for the info. I hear alot of Americans are to other countries for procedures that are too expensive here or are not approved, which goes to prove that we may not have the best healthcare money can buy. Other countries are way ahead of us on alternative therapies that work and surgeries that are more effective, i.e. hip resurfacing, which is not approved here in the U.S. I hope we have a plan similar to you Canadians then that would be awesome but if we get anything at all that is beneficial to all Americans, with the insurance and pharmaceutical companies input, I would be totally amazed.

My uncle is about to die of brain cancer and he's a Canadian immigrant. If he were still in the U.S. he'd have tens of thousands of dollars of medical bills piling up from the surgery and other ongoing treatments he's required. BTW I love Canada for more than that, it is totally different from the states. When you go there you just feel peaceful and happy because people are so low-key in general.

Glen Beck is like the opposite of a Canadian, he represents the remnants of tribalism in the U.S. (as most republicans do). Violent, bullying, isolationist, ignorant and fearful of anything that doesn't reinforce the tribal view .

He's not serious. I've always said he's just playing a role. His aim is to get more and more outrageous to attract coverage (like this). This insures he gets a new contract and a bigger paycheck. That's all he's after. He knows exactly what he's doing. All I can say is anyone who'd take such an irrational stance (on any and everything) for a paycheck is just depraved. I don't know why anyone would attempt to engage with him; it's like trying to have a conversation with a rabid pit-bull.

I thought that kind of behavior was mandatory on FOX. I'm pretty sure professionalism is not even allowed. I hear they give their on-air people extra mental health days. http://newsy1.wordpress.com

Yep. because the other talking head channels are soooo much better! Ha!!! If you remember correctly he was on Headline News before FOX, and they must have heard his radio show before they hired him.
'I have to tell myself daily that liberals are people too, I suggest you remind yourself the same thing about Conservatives.

So... because he worked for some other news agency that somehow means that all the other channels are the same... and you find this to be sound logic. Is that a strict interpretation of law or more of a living document sort of thing? lol

I don't recall any of the commentators from Air America having hissies even remotely close to that or hissies at all for that matter. The conservatives are imbalanced right now because a biracial man is in the White House. We know you're people too but you operate on a level different from us. We don't go around shooting up people that disagree with us or that we disagree with. Most of us libs don't watch Headline News, we get our news from various sources on the Internet so that we have a bit more of the truth than we get from any of our cable news sources.

Being a spoonfed Liberal is better than being a brainwashed Republican. Our current Healthcare system is failing miserably. It is a FACT that Canada and other countries have a more efficient and less cost healthcare systems. My question is...for your "conservative" mind to fathom...Since millions of honest USA workers have lost their jobs because of the unbridled deregulation and outsourcing of Bushonomics; how can they afford healthcare under our current system? The only ones making hay in this broken system of ours is corporate and special interest groups...how is that going to help our fellow Americans that desperately need healthcare. There is actually less waiting time in Canada than in the US. Many companies don't even provide affordable healthcare coverage for their workers...right here in the USA...THIS IS UNDER OUR CURRENT SYSTEM. Also, our current healthcare system does NOT allow workers to choose their own doctors...the healthcare providers were decided for us by the insurance companies...not the workers...it has been this way for many years. Adequate healthcare for everyone...especially for those less fortunate...is the right thing to do.
