Where's the real story.
Layers are so fascinating usually after the fact and then more so if one is an archeologist or curiosity inclined.

Yea, what did he do? Delete the Powerpoint presentation the CIA was going to bring to the Congress. (Click) boy that was hard. Okay time to move on.

I think this proves that government agencies just continue down their own pre-set paths no matter who takes over the executive office. Could explain a lot of what's been going on in other agencies, as well.

That's a compelling story on your blog. If I was President, all of those incompetent people would be in prison, and you'd be compensated with $50 BILLION in US money to make up for your wrongly being accused of a crime. All of it paid for by the employees who did that stuff first, then coming out of taxpayer money afterwards. Maybe after a few times, the taxpayers will make sure it never happens again.

Let's just call it what it really is. Spreading democracy is not done by torture and assassinations for the most part, at least in theory. I'd like to think that winning the hearts and minds is not done by shock and awe.

No sovereign nation has officially declared war upon the U.S. since WWII as far as I am aware. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Come to think of it, the U.S. has never officially declared war on any of the nations it is currently 'at war' with. I was under the impression that war could only be officially declared upon another country with the express consent of the American Congress. To the best of my knowlege that is yet to happen.

In which case, who is currently waging the illegal war?

Oh, the drama. The program never made it to the stage where Congressional notification was required. Pelosi knows this but hey, how else can she cover her a$$?

Honestly, HP. You really do need to stop shaping the direction of these posts to fulfill your own agenda.

If you can't post an alternative point of view other than the ones YOU want on your threads, why bother having posts at all?

You're slowly becoming as bad as those who have taken us down the road of corruption....

The secret CIA program allegedly aimed at assassinating suspected terrorists abroad has raised the eyebrows of at least one former senior Bush Administration official who hints that the program may have actually gone into effect, despite the denials of the agency and congressional staff who have been briefed.

The aide, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, was chief of staff to Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell. He says he heard “echoes” of the program from US ambassadors abroad, who informed him that clandestine military teams were being dispatched to their countries.

“We, very early on, after 9/11, at the State Department, learned from our ambassadors in the field that there were teams being dispatched to their cities, to their countries, and these teams were clandestine and essentially aimed at capturing al Qaeda leaders or al Qaeda affiliates and interrogating them,” Wilkerson told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Tuesday. “So the fact that it might have gravitated over to the CIA or the CIA might have joined in, which is something that happens a lot these days with Delta Force and other special operators is no surprise to me.

Thanks, hp, you who are read throughout the world. Another bullhorn bragimony from an interrogator (this one a supervisor with a gift for handling fi_re @nts) who, probably, has some kind of @xe to grind (or if not that, an ego to bolster, brag-brag-brag).

Yes, by all means, run a thread on it. And then when we all hear from, say, H@m@s on this matter (if they are able to speak coherently, they might be so ecstatc that coherent speech is really difficult), monitor that thread, as you do all threads about H@m@s, lest someone say something that could cause... tr0uble.

I think it's you, the great ce_nsurer of the internet, who should be m0nitored...and quite heavily. I think you are the tr0ubler-maker. And for what? In the name of good journalism, transparency and healing the nation? Nope. You do it for:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Don't you know that there are times, though they are rare, when b@ring ALL gets more problems than it solves? When doing so, whether just to br@g or to really c0nfess something that is on the c0nscience, is not good but b@d? Not selfless but selfish, even self-serving? That you could put people in more d@nger than they are already in, or ki_ll any possibility of anything you ever again say, as a country and along m0ral lines, being taken seriously?

Aren't there ways to stamp this kind of thing out without resorting to what might be called Megaphone Mea Culpas?

Want to get somewhere with our foreign policy? Then G@G every CIA operative (that you know ever interrogated ANYONE) in existence, and here I don't mean a G@G ORDER, either. Or shall we just do what we are good at doing: something really stu_pid that doesn't solve the problem, but, rather, makes it100 times worse, and then sit back and watch our troops take the heat for us. Like shields...

Republicans say the law does not apply to them, they only need laws in order to criminalize Democrats. Republicans say they are better than Americans. They are the law unto themselves.

When OBL was offered up and Clinton didn't take him. Then the Cruise missiles "missed." Maybe it was supposed to look like the Keystone cops. The assassins who couldn't shoot straight. They still can't. In twenty odd years, we could have taken OBL out it seems. Even Cheney can't do it. All he hits are lawyers. Both Republicans and Democrats have "tried" to take him out. he is even more scary than the Soviet Union and China put together. Makes you wonder.

It must be great living in a country where your government spies on you with impugnity, and authorises secret hit squads to assassinate whomever they want, whenever they want, without any legal oversight whatsoever.

To all the reichwingers on this thread who support such things, all I can say is; wait untill they start coming for you. Have you learned nothing from history?

How many U.S. citizens are already on some kind of secret government watch list?
I fear that your country has already become the very thing that many of you so loudly claim to despise.
