The Atlantic Food Channel:

Small sustainable producers will likely never have the same investment pull as a multinational wind energy conglomerate. But there's ample room in the emerging eco-friendly economy for niche-oriented operations wedded to socially responsible principles.

My wife and I made some serious dietary changes over two years ago after we started going to a Natural Doctor. Because of being disabled in the military I ballooned to almost 300 lbs. Now I am at 231 lbs and still losing weight. I want to get back down to 175 lbs - my ideal weight.

We went to see "Food Inc." last Friday. OMG! I have never been so grossed out in my entire life. Now my wife and I only buy organically-grown fruits/vegetables and organically-raised beef and chicken that has been grass fed. For some time we have been buying grass-fed buffalo.

It is disgusting what these huge companies are doing to our food supply. Fight back and only support local farmers that grow stuff organically.

I'd rather get my food from small sustainable producers. Supporting small local farmers is better for the community. You take that away and you have lost something that can never be replaced by something corporate.

Social responsibility is anti-American, evidently.

If it doesn't help big business hasten the end of a habitable planet, then it's socialism.

Our family supports organic farmers by buying only organic produce, locally grown when possible.

A little help from the national collective would be a big boost, however.
