Wall Street Journal:

It was instantly clear after Sept. 11, 2001, that our security agencies knew little about al Qaeda's inner workings, could not detect its operatives' entry into the country, nor predict where it might strike next.

Behold, the world according to the delusional narcissist. Make no attempt to apply the rules of conventional logic to such rantings. History is replete with examples of the underlying self-serving irrationality of such tyrants.

However, in the interest of preserving democracy in this country, steps must to taken to ensure such shamelessly arrogant demagogues not be given access to the corridors of politcal power.

Rather than babble endlessly as to "Why we endorsed warrantless wiretaps". Yoo could have answered that question as simply as Clinton did, when asked about the Monica affair.

"Because I could"

-Forget about trying to justify a constitutional violation, John Yoo. You're wrong, so just admit it.

He used more than 1,000 words and still couldn't justify trampling the constitution. This traitor belongs in jail.

It is not hard to see how someone who the capacity for such tortured logic could support torture.
How did he ever get into Law School much less graduate?

Dear John,
Start packing your bags, we are coming for you! Your torture opinions have not been forgotten, either.

Another of Bush' "yes" men.... These guys were picked specifically for their loyalty to the Administration over their oaths to their professions and their oaths of office. They were not picked because of their ability to provide sound legal opinion. They were picked for their willingness to give the Executive branch anything it wanted.... Yoo probably couldn't offer one example of dissent and sticking to his guns for his entire tenure with the Cheney/Bush Administration.

FISA gave you two weeks, did it not? More than enough time to cover emergency intel and still get required authorization.

Their claims for the necessity of their abuse of power are refuted by their failures.

This doesn't explain anything. A history lesson from someone who doesn't give a darn about America or its values. There is no excuse for the NSA reviewing all communications by all Americans as it now does via its splitter boxes and secret rooms in the ATT hubs at San Francisco and other places. Heck, there is even a NOVA episode dedicated to the topic!
There is no excuse for Yoo facilitating a secret government that spies on its people in the name of defending us. Their programs failed miserably on top of it.

Further, its a known fact that this was going on before 911. Cheney was using NSA wiretaps to spy on business rivals and political enemies before 911.

Yep... Bush wanted to be a war hero but there wasn't a warrior in the entire Administration. Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe this bunch of fools and their collective boobery...

His whole point was "we ignored the law because it was to slow and we didn't want to wait for warrants to start looking for information".

Yes, ignore the law, and tell us it's for our own good.

Keep hanging yourself.
