Meghan McCain: "Joe the Plumber -- You Can Quote Me -- Is A Dumbass"

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 08/15/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:35 PM ET

Meghan Joe

In an interview with OUT magazine, Meghan McCain spoke freely on her support for gay marriage -- and her dislike of some conservative mouthpieces.

Unprompted, McCain rails against the man her father's presidential campaign touted as an American everyman and made a showpiece in the weeks before the election. "Joe the Plumber -- you can quote me -- is a dumbass. He should stick to plumbing."

McCain also said she'd "be flattered to be considered the anti-Ann Coulter, the anti-Rush Limbaugh."

Author James Kirchick added in a blog post that there's still one controversial campaign figure McCain won't discuss:

Interestingly, while McCain is more than happy to bash the man whom her father celebrated for weeks on end, the one part of the campaign McCain will not talk about is Sarah Palin.

Her description of Joe can also be applied to her father.

Meghan, I'm kind of tired of you trying to change the Republican party into the Democratic party. That is a lost cause, but it does get you a lot of attention. Why don't you defect already and join the Democrats?

As though the Democrats are any better? I'd prefer Meghan over Harry Reid or any of those progress-blocking politicians who call themselves "Democrats."

These labels mean nothing anymore, it's about the message and ideas, not the label. In that regard, Meghan would make a far better Senator than most of the Dems and certainly the Republicans.

Many ACORN charges are contract workers who, when trying to reach ACORN quotas, got caught with their pants down. A definite no-no, trying to register fake persons, who would have never voted anyway.

Also these are cases of voter REGISTRATION fraud. Ann Coulter, on the other hand, is under investigation for VOTER fraud. Twice.

Meghan should probably stick to the tabloids and stay away from politics. She just doesn't have it. Now Liz Cheney does have it and would blow away Meghan in any debate.

I have a friend who is a follower of Lyndon LaRouche, and they believe that Liz Cheney is actually the power behind the Bush administration. She supposedly has connections to oligarchial (their term) parties in England, and she does their bidding, then gets her husband to do her bidding. In other words, we are going down because British interests have woven their tentacles into our government and supported policies that have led to our destruction - their goal since losing the Revolutionary War. That's what the LaRouche faction believes.
03:42 PM on 07/21/2009
But her husband's a nobody. How's Phillip Hartman supposed to bring us down due to Liz's bidding?

After seeing Meghan's embarrassingly poor rebuttal to intellectual discourse on Bill Maher's show, this may be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

I too saw Meghan on Mahers show. This is not a brilliant individual in any sense of the word. It would certainly be hard to confuse this bimbo with the Mystic Oracale. If it weren't for her prominent Mcain name, her opinions would be relegated to the many other qualified perfume counter saleswomen who's brilliant reparte and profound ideas we equally treasure.

I'm a African-American Independent (38 years). If she decides to run for office she will put Sarah Palin to shame. Her daddy must be so proud.

There is a place for rational conservatives (as well as lunatics, but not completely stupid lunatics): its called the Democratic Party.

Then there is the center, and then the left...
