To be an haute couture designer is a great honor--and a rare one as well. They're hand-selected by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris to become members of the "Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture," or literally, the Trade Union of High Fashion. Couture designers must follow strict rules laid out by the "Chambre Syndicale," which range from workshop location to fitting private clients.

The "Chambre Syndicale" has no rules for the clothing itself, allowing designers to have a little fun with what they create. As a result, it is not uncommon to see outrageous and unwearable clothing walk down the runway. So in honor of last week's couture shows, which spanned from July 6th to July 8th, take a look at some of the craziest looks from the recent collections and vote for the one that you think is the most extravagant.

Enough of the fur!!! Heinous cruelty is not fashionable or necessary. Designers can create riduculous looking outfits without it. The money spent on this nonsence could be used to put real clothes on people who need them.

Who would wear this except in a show? Designers should stop wasting their time and design clothes to enhance real lifestyles.
