Judge Sonia Sotomayor has spent the last four days on Capitol Hill making the case for her Supreme Court suitability. But as the nation watched, the other question became clear: How did her actual suits stack up? Although the sheer black stockings and single black kitten heel (the other foot was in cast) remained consistent throughout, she mixed things up with bright, bold jackets and one pinstriped suit. Which outfit did she wear best? Vote below.

I could care less what she wore. As an African American woman I am disappointed by the promise of her confirmation. C-Span talked about her judicial record and it definitely does not indicate that she will rule from the bench for minorities or poor people. She ruled against that Puerto Rican firefighter, her judicial record shows that in "race based employment discrimination" cases that came before her, 78 out of 96 times she ruled against the plaintiff. I agree with her comment about the "Wise Latina" because being a person of color gives you a whole nother perspective on issues. But trust me, she and Clarence Thomas will not be making favorable rulings for minorities or the poor. So people of color lost again, no matter what ethinicity natonality they came from.

What did Sessions wear and how did it stack up against the other males that were there?
I seriously want an answer for my question.
I think that it is disgusting how HuffPost insists that female politicians have to have
their clothing choices debated.

Conservatives are boring dressers so I don't know why this is in the style section period. This is non story.

Why don't we have a poll on the conservative men who were at the hearings...that would be keeping it Equal in lieu of always making it a women's issue if that is were HP wants to this this silliness.

Come one, let us see some innovative style and snappy dressing to get excited about here.

I second you and Padrushka.

Since this is the STYLE section after all, we need more commentary on men's sartorial flairs (or lack thereof).

Note, btw, that the most recent slideshow on men's hobbies is one that relates more to their mental than aesthetic prowess.

So, hey, equal rights for men!

She really dresses like a Latina version of Hillary, very conservative. When I first started out back in the late seventies Head Hunters would tell women who were interested in working in Banks, Law firms, etc. to dress in a way that no one will remember what you wore so that it wouldn't distract from the job you do. So what I think is she looks OK, sort of non eventful, but that's OK as long as she does her job well!

Please. The Palin wardrobe posts were bad enough, but at least there was a bit of importance there with how they were paid for. When HP starts posting polls on how well male SC appointees wear their suits (or the Judicial Committee) it'll be justified in posting this sort of nonsense.

I just love the hypocrisy of a progressive news site that has a section defining women by how they look and dress and not on their accomplishments.

To the person who thinks the judge has a broken "leg", she has a fractured "ankle" and she's wearing a walking boot.

Sotomayor is a brilliant woman with an accomplished career.

However, I don't see the point in rating pictures of expensive outfits on a woman who looks like a frumpy schoolteacher.

This isn't style, it's celebrity worship.

Emily, sweetheart! smoochums! Honey love. Is there more talent than can be pulled from you than just compiling nice pretty pictures and things as we're pretty much expecting more substance from the SCJ Nominee Sotomayor, while we're at it, FLOTUS Michelle Obama and the many women of substance that, as a result of this style of reporting have been reduced to nothing more than fashion rack and style symbols.

The women I know are more than apron-wearing muffin serving kitchen and house host and Sotomayor is no exception to this. Grow into your own sweetie.

I'm sure someday real soon the bubbles will settle and you will be more than aptly prepared to handle "Prime Time" as a real colunmist.

Huuuummm! I get that the two words white & republican go together like PB&J, but the two words gay & republlican? I thought you people were the standard bearers for morality.

you sure were snooty to Emily, it's like you ate a whole bowl of catnip before responding to whatever Emily said that upset you.

This may be the silliest poll yet. Once she dons her black robe, HP will probably come out with a new poll on her earrings or nail polish.

Fox News Megyn Kelly can hate with the best of them. She said "She sure gets around well for a women with a broken leg." As if the Judge was faking.

I actually wouldn't mind these stories about women's clothing if there were the same stories about men's (business) clothing. I notice that you can talk about Obama's casual outfits, but somehow there's nothing to talk about when it comes to his suits. Suits convey a lot, but we somehow act like a suit is a suit.
